1> I heard a strange hisssing sound when I started the car -- this is not heard everytime but this happened 2 times so far. For a minute I thought it was like loosing air from back left Tyre. The noise was heard from back seat (Second row).
Have anyone of you experienced this? Please let me know
I read somewhere on this forum, probably in this thread that it is the sound of the fuel pump as the fuel tank is below the middle row seats. Nothing to worry.

Hi all,
I just need to ask a question. Does the Ertiga have brake locks?
It is when the engine is off and you press the brake pedal, it locks. I have seen it in some cars.

I believe it has, I noticed the brake paddle is hard when enegine is off. Others can confirm please.
Yes i tried it, it does lock but not after you press it (like steering wheel lock). It locks automatically after engine is off. It is a good feature i think.
I just asked because i did not know how to open if something like that happens [:)]

[surprise] I dont think it is related to any Brake lock feature , there is no such feature in Ertiga . I cant explain this (experts please help here ) but it is related to Hydrolic Brakes . Do practice it ..you car may roll down hill if you dont pay enough attention when brake paddle get hard (in engine off situation ) and Hand brake is not engaged.

The reason that the brake pedal becomes hard is that after the engine is switched off the vacuum pump stops and there is no more brake assist. There is no such feature as brake lock in the ertiga.

Wow, your Ertiga is looking hot. Although the steering cover is not gelling perfectly, however it fit and finish is appearing top class.
Please stay away from chrome garnish which tend to dull away after a few months. Further, it accumulates dirt in between the fitment and body.

OT: Wish to know the lens these images have been clicked from! Superb quality.

Perfect . All the cars have the same feature now, so we cannot turn engine OFF and drive the car even in a slope.

Engine OFF = No Vacuum = No brake assist = hard brake pedal.

Were the door glasses open? If not, check the rubber gaskets that surrounds the door and the weatherstrips on the outside of the door glasses.

Anyone else changing plans for Diesel Ertiga, keeping in mind what our great Govt has in store for us ?
I cancelled just in nick of time..what about others ?
Rohit,
You are lucky. But I am not sure if it is going be 10 Rs hike in 2013.
The advantage of diesel car is that it gives better mileage when compared to Petrol car.

Keeping my fingers crossed
