I received my ertiga on Tuesday the first thing I had done was chop 3 inches of the last row seat backrest. Now when folding it over the second row can be pushed all the way back for greater comfort. I will post pictures once I get back from Goa connectivity is limited here. Has anyone bought a 2 din convertor fascia plate for the Ertiga I need to get one as I wish to fit my Witson unit from my earler Polo

I am going to get my Ertiga VDI coming Friday, 28th Dec'12. ZDI, waiting period is long. VDI is avail imdtly so I choose this. I want to sell the Audio Head Unit. Please let me know if any interested. Thank you.

Ertiga VDi (Serene Blue) which was booked 2 months ago was delivered to me last Friday[:)] I have a query here for which even the sales person's answer wasn't convincing.
What is the function of the alarm button/switch present next to the fog lamp switch? I could depress it like fog lamp switch/button but the sales personnel said we have nothing to do with it (I can tell he was also unaware of this, from his answer[frustration]). But, what is it intended for?

Hi Vishu,

The switch sort of button is for parking buzzer, once you put the car in reverse and switch on the button a sort of musical ring will sound. For that you have to purchase that buzzer. It will cost you 350, I have put in my Ertiga but never care to use it.

Thanks Alok. Also, I hear a hissing sound from the under body once I turn on the ignition (the first time I heard it, I thought I had a tyre puncture:stupid:) Is this normal?

Hi,
Yes it is normal it is the just the sound of the fuel pump filling up. It comes from the back of the car. Normally goes off after 20-25 seconds. It is also in my ZDI.

Hi Everyone,

I have been following this thread for sometime and indeed the experience and views shared on this forum is really valuable and helpful. I have booked Ertiga VDI (White) on 25th Dec and likely to get delivery on 4th Jan 2012.

The White colour is non metallic unlike other colours offered in Ertiga. When touched the smoothness is missing. The dealer is suggesting Acrylic Paint Sealent on the body which cost Rs. 8330/-. I think this is same as teflon coating.

Eagerly waiting for this beauty to come.

I feel its a waste of money to go in for the paint sealant.Even the teflon coating that they do is just polish and not actual teflon.

Under body coating helps because the under body is not painted hence the metal tends to rust faster.Go in for 3m coating, they have packages with 2 and 5yr warranties.The 5yr one costs around Rs4500 for the Ertiga.

based on the suggested/planned diesel price parity and my usage, i decided to cancel Zdi, which i was about to get registered. when i had booked, the diff between petrol n diesel was rs.35, by this year end it will be 10.

plan to switch to ZXi.

Hi Friends,

Today I took Ertiga for a long drive around 350 KM and the drive was very smooth and it runs like horse once turbo is kicked, I attained max speed of 120KM/H on Nice road.

But I notice a kind of rattling sound when A/C is on and the sound is like a thin steel plate exposed to wind. Did any one witness same?

I think you should get acrylic coating as suggested by your dealer. Although it is not teflon but nevertheless it protects the paint for about two years. Most of the dealers give two years guarantee on this. Teflon is a brand of dupont company which is used in nonstick cookware. It requires very high temperatures for application to which any car cannot be subjected. It has become common in india to pass on acrylic paint protector as teflon.
