does Alloy wheels have any benefits over the steel tyres, or is it just "LOOKS"?
HI Mohit, Here is what I found for you on Alloys.

What is the difference between alloy and steel wheels?

Traditionally most car wheels were made of steel. They were durable and looked presentable. But in the world of motor sport this was not enough and alloy wheels are the order of the day. Alloy wheels are different to steel wheels in a number of ways including:

They are made of an alloy of aluminium or magnesium, and sometimes even both
They tend to have greater strength compared to weight, than steel wheels
Alloy wheels have greater heat conduction
A possible problem is that alloy wheels can be more vulnerable in a fire
Tuning enthusiasts like them because of their look and connection with motor sport
Could contribute to improved vehicle handling

Put simply alloy wheels deliver all the strength of steel wheels but with lighter weight, which in turn is always a bonus for performance.

MohitG:Indian manufactured alloys are not upto the mark yet.

If you want to get alloy wheels I would suggest you get them from Maruti.Maruti MGP/MGA alloys are of really good quality.

Alloys are not prone to corrosion like steel.

People go for alloys, for both reasons - functional & aesthetic. As our friends have mentioned they have higher strength to weight ratio and also corrosion resistant. They also offer higher resistance to impact (pits, humps, speed breakers) over steel wheels which would deform and become unsuitable for use with tubeless tyres, even if you manage to remove the dent. One more practical benefit is they are much easier to clean.

Equal number of people, opt for alloy wheels for aesthetic reasons too. There are infinite number of choices for people to choose from. Again, one needs to be careful in choosing a proven brand or stick to genuine accessories.

TAIDHANA:I have seen alloys crack on pits and humps and steel wheels come out fine.Steel wheels can be repaired.Alloys cannot be.

Steel wheels are cheaper to replace, alloys are expensive. Also there is a chance that the design you went for is not on sale anymore.

When buying alloys buy a set of 5.This way you have a spare alloy in case one gets damaged. The damaged one can be replaced for a steel wheel.

Good suggestion there on set of 5. I also agree that it could be cheaper to replace steel wheels than alloys. Repairing steel wheels might not give good results & hence difficult to get same ride quality with repaired wheels.

Alloys wont get damaged except for high impact situations in which case even tyres and suspension might take a hit.

But, I don't think steel wheels can take more impact than alloy wheels. Personally, I have replaced 2 rims on Indica because of deformation due mild impact. Never had problems with cars running on same route with alloys.

We have pits the size of moon craters here.Anything is possible out here.

Indica rims have always been blamed for poor quality just like the zen rims.

Alloys don't bend since they are rigid they crack, steel on the other hand bends on impact.

Thank you buddy, as soon as get time to write I'll post it here.
I'm clear that I'm not going to leave my vehicle outside for Mods, what ever I do either do it myself or get it done with authorized people.
Right now I fitted basic accessories from dealer such as, Spoiler, Reverse Parking assist, Seat Covers( best of my choice) door seal guard.
Accessories I purchased from outside are basically electronics such as, Bluetooth(5v), Tyre Inflator(12v), vacuum cleaner(12v) etc.
Planning to install central arm rest for driver.
and Good alloys.

I'll write a clear review once I get free(may be tomo with mouth watering pics)

Congratulations Mr Ranger.
Thank you very much buddy.

Thank you very much buddy.
That would be great. Good list of accessories you have planned. Congrats.
What Bluetooth option are you going with ? I am also planning for arm rest - but don't want to do a DIY and mess up center console. This is long pending in my list.
