I got my Ertiga Superior White delivered as schedule. I would like to share my buying experience/
Purpose of a New car- I had already maruti swift for last 7 years and it had never let me down in any way not a single puncture or breakdown till date i sold it in June 2013 as time has come for a new one. I love to travel with my family so i wanted a car which is comfortable spacious and can carry all family members comfortably.
Contester- Innova, Mahindra zylo, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Rapid, Chevrolet Sail, Swift Dizire, SX4, Honda Amaze, Honda city, Renoult Duster and Ford Eccosport.
Innova is a good car but it is overpriced and Ertiga on the other side was available as a choice still ertiga was not decided but it has help me ruled out Innova as price difference is big.
Test drove Hyundai verna and in speed over 80 ride quality was not satisfactory plus i felt it is also overpriced in compare to Ertiga SX4 so ruled out.
Went for test drive Honda amaze as there was a lot of talk about it. But my wife could not bear the engine sound as it was very loud inside the cabin with a bit acceleration and it didn't impress me either. So immediately it was ruled out and i did not go for full test drive and told the salesperson that i dont need further test drive.
Skoda rapid test drive, Look, interior and overall experience really impressed me and my wife and we were almost decided to go for it. But in online forums there were lot of negative talk about after sales services are extremely bad as it is a sophisticated car service personnel are not well trained and some time they spoil something and owner has to bear the brunt. Plus spare parts are very expensive. Inspite of loving Rapid so much doubt was created in our mind and finally ruled out.
I did not like the look of Renault Duster and bit over priced compare to ertiga and we ruled out this car also.
In final contest there were Eccosport, Honda city, Swift Dizire, SX4. We could not test drive eccosport as it was not lunch but it was available for display in showroom and we could check everything except driving. Eccosport has lot of features and it is futuristic car but only 4 person can sit comfortably. Sit were too hard and not good for long journey and waiting period was 6 month and because of sitting restraint and a new product we ruled it out. Honda city is petrol and no option for diesel and all ready my family members have it, my wife was not kin so i was. Now only Maruti Suzuki Car were in contest and ertiga won the battle.
Deciding factor of Ertiga.

Flexible seating for 7/ 8 average persons and use as 5 seater with lot of boot space.
Folding two rows middle and last can be a Executiv Ac cabin where my children and wife can sleep in long drives that option was not available in any of contesting cars.
Nice interior elegant, Music system is very good and for me i have samsung galaxy note which is fulfilling what is not there in music system so i have everything in that front bluetooth adapter to connect my phone, through aux i can listen music other passenger can watch video. So for me it was full package.
I got feliz limited edition with additional accessories and customization with the same price. Rs 20000. This added to my car exterior and interior classic look safty with reverse parking sensors. I got my front grill and fog lamp unit painted as body color and it is really looking great. Dealer gave me car body cover with feliz kit. So overall it was a win win deal for me.
I booked Petrol ZXI first but i came to know after that there is a huge discount in diesel. All together i got 50000 Discount I had to pay only 920000 difference amount after all discount. I found taking diesel variant is wiser as difference is reduced to 92k. I called up dealer and cancel petrol variant and change it to diesel. I had driven both petrol and diesel in my test drive and i was impressed with both the engine with their pros and cons.
I got my Ertiga on 27th June 2013 and entire process was very smooth and took one hour. On delivery time my Odo was 34 Km.
I went for first long drive to mysore from bangalore on 29th. I drove between 60 to 80 KM speed as it was suggested by service personnel till first service. So i strictly followed and in this speed the overall performance was great. I was very happy for my decision to buy Ertiga as it has satisfied me 100 percent. DDIS is great in its performance and my few observations which i must share with experience members who can through some more light on it.
1. I kept Engine RPM between 1500 to 2000 throughout my journey. We can easily reach 80 Km in 5th gear in between 1800 to 2000 RPM. I felt even we can touch 100 plus in 2000rpm but i have not gone beyond 80 so I have to see in coming days.
2. Ertiga ride quality and driving experience is much better with all 7 passenger on board. I went for a short trip with 8 person 3 last row average height build comfortably and 3 in middle row and front me and my friend and surprisingly Ertiga behaved very differently i felt more responsiveness, smooth better handling.
3. I have read many review and there is a talk that Ertiga is underpower below 1800. But my experience is different. If we rev correctly in different gear with proper RPM it is ultra smooth and responsive and i never felt under power. Yes in slow moving traffic gear shift is frequent but with proper speed and gear combination with correct RPM is maintained we will not feel engine is underpowered.
4. Fuel economy returned 14.91 by tank full to tankful method. Total distance covered 400 Km in that 130km city traffic bumper to bumper and 270 highway. Hope it will improve as i am getting adjusted with diesel engine as earlier car was petrol.
