Maruti Suzuki Ertiga ZDi Bought: Ownership Review

Yes i had test drive xylo one and half year back even ertiga was not lunched that time. But that time we change our mind as my swift was serving all requirement without any issue so we thought let wait some more time so that some new car coming in the market with futuristic design can give us better option with latest features. With that driving experience of xylo and other factor look, Fuel economey, size, we ruled out xylo. Xylo has good pickup comfort etc but comparing with ertiga ZDI i found ertiga is much better deal and value for money.
Ertiga has car like handling on the other hand xylo is MUV with more height weight etc. And riding, handling is not as good as ertiga. Ertiga can beat xylo on many front. This is my personal observation.

Your car looks very nice with Fleiz accessories. How much it will cost if we color only Fog lamps.

Feliz kit comes with accessories and paint work is done by dealer. It depends how we make deal with dealer while going for feliz kit. My dealer was flexible with alternatives. But if you go for feliz they will provide other accessories or painting work on the place of existing accessories even we can demand some more accessories and they may give as in my case i got some. So if you don't want grill painting ask for something else even cash discount. But cash discount will be very less so better option is go for something useful.
If you want to paint only fog lamps i think it should not cost more than 500. But i am not sure as i had not asked separate price for fog lamps. But as per my discussion and price coted separately for painting works it should be around same amount.

The following query is regarding the bluetooth handsfree kit sold as MGA for Ertiga ZDI. Was planning to purchase this product from the dealer. However, dealer mentioned the accessory is not compatible with phones like Samsung S3.

If anyone in the forum using the same, can you let me know about the call quality, compatibility with different phones and any other useful information.

@kishorv: That painted grill looks good. BW did you try for the chrome grills of Feliz? Is that available as separate accessory of Feliz. I am planning to go for Chrome fittings.

Guys today I took my LUV to fix the roof ratle issue. I had SA and Service Manager who had a TD with me and they admitted this should be fixed and the Manager started giving small advise to SA to not to say NO to any customer.

They changed the right window quarter glass rubber beeding as I compained them for air noise at speeds more than 50km. After which they took me along with SM for a TD. Now that is fixed

Now comes the most irritating sound roof AC rattle. The SM asked for 4 hours of time to fix that. They called me and informed me about the fix . Again we had a test drive along with SM of my surprise it is gone. This time went on bad roads for more than 3kms it was so silent

I asked them what they did and if it will come back again. The SM said they had to put paddings and arrest the gap between roof and ac and tighten te AC bolts but I do not see any sign of roof liner been removed to fix it. What ever it is my issue is resolved I drove to office for another 25km and no noise abserved yet.

So they were acting dumb!
At a meeting i spoke to a Maruti service executive who himself disclosed many of the Ertigas are reporting noise above 100 & rumor is the door beading.
He also mentioned the rear ac rattle on bad roads.
Also some new Wagon R (current batch June/July delivery)have complained of weird road noise that slowly affects the car driver with a headache,he says it could be the tires(Apollo) but they are not sure.
I actually searched this forum to see if anyone reported similar prob(this is my first post here).
Maruti knows about this so if any other customer should face this little issue have it changed,Maruti does not publicly mention about any probs with there cars or do recalls.

I did ask for chrome grill but dealer said that they can maximum do body color as feliz option is silver only. I am not sure if they have chrome painting equipment. I have seen there are chrome caps fitting available outside MGA. I have fitted chrome cap in my door handle, you can see it in page no. 109 in my post.

Feliz one is Silver in color, not chrome. How I wish it had. I see it on net being sold close to 5K.

How much effort will it take to take out the grill, have it spray painted 2-3 coats of chrome paint (think its available in spray cans) and put it back ?

Of course, not in this monsoon season.

Before delivery go for PDI and first open the bonnet. Below the windshield on driver side you can see chassis No. at the end of chassis number look for ED or FD. ED means May 2013 and FD means June 2013. Also ask for VIN. After checking this you will be sure for your manufacturing month.
