In most the reviews it states that the 3rd row is just a fancy - probably just enough for the kids. If that is indeed the case then this will be an extended/spacious swift when compared to a Xylo or any other MUV.

+1. This is more of gimmick & the only buyers for these will be 4 adults with 1/2 kids. For proper seating, it has to be Innova or Xylo at lower end.
I feel that Ertiga may well end like Versa.

Yes 3rd Row is for Fancy Purpose, But on a deeper observation, the middle row seats have an option to slide to and fro so people well within 5.5 Ft and probably rear seat passengers can pull forward so as to give some space to the 3rd row and they would be satisfied with a bit of lesser legroom.Again this is limited only to average sized adults.

Only if it's priced crazily or exorbitantly. Say Beyond 10 Lakhs for the top End one.

There are reports that top end diesel version will be around 9L ex-showroom, which means 10L on road. Wonder how many will buy Ertiga Zdi for this price [confused].

This does not sound right. Maruti's approach was to ensrue value for the money alongwith basic reliability.

The Ertiga is not fully in the MUV space, while it is slightly above the sedan space so how will such high pricing help them. Insight into what is their read of the market segment will be very interesting.

Maybe Vdi would do the job, as someone said the prices will be over Dzire and Below SX-4. So expect the ZDi crossing 10 Lakh mark and to the utter dismay Auto A/C isn't being offered in any of the variants.[frustration]

I think Maruti will price Ertiga wisely by foreseeing Toyota's new Etios based MUV. Toyota is targeting those people comes under the range of Qualis. The price will be starting something below 6 lakhs. So Ertiga also will be priced between 5.5 to 8.5 lakhs.

But you should consider the price only between 7.2-8.5L as I doubt how many Ertiga buyers will opt for petrol. When Swift is selling over 75% in diesel, for 6+ seater, I think this may well be over 80-85%. And then you also have the xylo which is better than Ertiga.

Launching Today[drive] ...Got Info From Dealer & he showed me demo car in stockyard Model-ZDI, Look very similar to innova & better then SX4[cheers][clap]

Dealers started launching "Ertiga" themselves [lol]-Got Info From Dealer he told me they are going to showcase the Demo car in showroom from today Also offer me to book the car even he also don't know the exact prices, yesterday evening he showed me demo car in stockyard Model was-ZDI,[cheers]

Pre-launch website of Ertiga is now online along with their official facebook page which says “LUV Coming Soon”. I think LUV has something to do with the segment of this car. (Eg: SUV, MUV). Guesses anyone?

Saw today the Overdrive hindi programme in which the anchor stated the LUV as Lifestyle Utility Vehicle.

The company claims mileage of only 16 km/l for diesel ertiga, which means in real world conditions, it would be around 13 !! Too less.
But for 1.4L petrol, Maruti claims 20 kmpl.
