Just to show the list of features, Maruti is making fool of customers,

- LED DRL --> lot of after market stuff available at reasonable price, is this a premium thing then?
- Adjustable rear headrest --> is this feature to be included in premium list [even TATA SUMO mid variant get this.]
- 16" alloy wheels --> it is obvious the premium car will have alloy wheels.

I just accidently visited NEXA website and here I found something funny...
Read text from the image and try to understand why they are born? If someone is able to explain me, please do me favor. Even they are confused to answer.

If there is something Maruti gets right that is knowing the market and pricing accordingly. Managing to bring down the prices in-spite of adding features, and keeping the price of the top end petrol below 10 lakhs are both great moves. Many buyers would have been waiting for the new 1.5 diesel, but though they would be disappointed with the same old 1.3 Multijet with VGT, they would be happy to get more for lesser money.
The 1.5 Petrol, though not on par with the City with the power and torque figures, is certainly an upgrade to the 1.4 K series engine. The fuel efficiency figures are also looking good for all variants.
It is sad that Maruti did not bring in a 6 speed gearbox or a better automatic transmission with the petrol engine.

What is really disappointing is Maruti's lack of focus towards safety. Though they have added ESP, it is available only on the AT variants. It is the only car in the segment which is not being offered with 6 airbags. I would not blame Maruti for it, but I feel, that they know what the consumer needs, and here it looks like fuel efficiency, and features for lesser price and they have provided the same.

Well said. 4 speed AT is outdated at this day and time, a Stepped CVT or atleast a 5 speed AT would have been much better.

Coming to the 6 Airbags present in the rivals of the Ciaz, Maruti Suzuki knows the market very well.
Yes, Hyundai Verna, Honda City has 6 Airbags but only on the Top Variants and not a lot of Indians can afford them, they end up buying the lower variants with dual airbags anyway.
Toyota Yaris with 7 airbags as Standard is definitely a better choice although the most expensive and with not so much else to offer.

On a slightly different note, the On-Road pricing of the Ciaz is listed below

Few Unnecessary stuff is added by Nexa to Jack up the On-Road Price. Can someone point out whether these extra stuffs are absolutely necessary to get? [thinking]

What this segment needs is lots of luxury elements, and unfortunately Suzuki has failed this.As everyone was saying ,its true that Suzuki has nailed with pricing. But see it other way round, one expecting a car in this segment ,will definitely try to extend their budget for atleast a Sunroof (Which is becoming a standard luxury feature in above 10L cars).Where Hyundai has put a benchmark is with same, lots of bells and whistles .Maruti definitely needs to study the Koreans handling better features for money.

Regarding performance - As i heard in Autocar India Review- Maruti Suzuki has compiled it perfectly in 1.5 VVT K series Petrol Manual ,as its a car meant to be sedately driven and including an SHVS(Mild hybrid system),it definitely get benefit in reduction in tax,and eco friendly consumers and those who are concerned with Fuel Economy will be pleased.

A need in this segment is diesel automatic which only Vento,Rapid,Verna has - None in the segment provides this.

Maruti Ciaz diesel 1.5 liter 6 MT launch soon – 2018 Ertiga to get first

Maruti Suzuki India has been working on new generation of petrol and diesel engines. Two of these engines are the 1.5 liter petrol 4 cylinder, which was launched recently in India on board the new Ciaz. Second is a 1.5 liter diesel 4 cylinder machine, which will be launched very soon.

This new 1.5 liter diesel engine will first make its debut on board the India-spec 2018 Ertiga MPV, which is expected to debut before Diwali 2018. This engine gets more power and torque as compared to the Fiat sourced 1.3 liter diesel engine rated at 90 PS and 200 Nm.

Apart from getting more power and torque, this engine will also get an advanced 6 speed manual transmission. The same has already been spied on test mule of Ertiga. This same diesel engine and 6 MT will also make its debut on the Ciaz, sometime next year. It will come equipped with SHVS mild hybrid system. Price of this new diesel 1.5 L engine’d Ciaz will more or less be same as of current Ciaz.

Another benefit for Maruti is the fact that they will no longer have to pay royalty to Fiat. Currently, Maruti pays a hefty royalty every year to Fiat to produce the 1.3 liter MultiJet diesel engine under license from Fiat.

Speaking about the new 2018 Maruti Ciaz, it gets design updates in the form of a new grille design, swept back headlamp cluster with projector lamps and daytime running lights, new front bumper and new alloy wheels are among its new features. Changes to the rear include new LED tail lamps.

Interiors have also been given a makeover with new comfort, connectivity and safety features. The 2018 Ciaz sedan gets all four power windows, keyless entry, rear parking sensors, ABS, dual airbags and ISOFIX seats as standard. Delta variant onwards, climate control and cruise control are offered while exclusive to the Alpha variants are touchscreen SmartPlay infotainment system. All AT variants get ESP and hill hold assist.

2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz sedan is powered by a 1.5 liter K15B engine offering 105 PS power at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm torque at 4,400 rpm mated to a 5 speed manual or 4 speed AT torque converter. The diesel engine is a 1.3 liter DDiS 200 unit offering 90 PS power and 200 Nm torque with a 5 speed manual gearbox only. The new Ciaz delivers fuel efficiency of 21.56 kmpl where manual petrol variants are concerned going up to 28.09 kmpl in diesel.

The 1.5 L Petrol with SHVS is likely to make its way to the S-Cross along with the 5 speed Gearbox and the 4 Speed AT. Lets see when do we get to see the 1.5 L Diesel in the Ertiqa and the Ciaz. The 1.5 L Diesel can make its way to the rest if the lineup in the future.

Petrol S-Cross and a More Powerful 1.5 L Diesel from Maruti Suzuki are surely highly awaited.

No SHVS Smart Hybrid In Upcoming New Maruti Ciaz 1.5 Diesel

2018-maruti-ciaz-facelift-pics-6-1.jpg

The new 1.5-litre diesel has lighter yet robust construction and it will offer smoother driving experience. Moreover, the NVH levels have been lowered for ensuring a quieter cabin compared to the 1.3 SHVS unit, which will likely be continued in the entry-level variants. The all-new bigger engine will instead be sold in Delta, Zeta and Alpha variants.

Don't know why companies can't offer atleast same engines on base models also, this could increase sales by a good amount.

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is the leader in the C -Segment in 2018,

Maruti Suzuki sold 50,759 units of Ciaz between January and December 2018 to become the best selling C-segment sedan in India leaving Hyundai's Verna and Honda's City far behind.

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz 1.5L Diesel Launch Likely This Month

2018-maruti-ciaz-facelift-pics-4-1.jpg

With new emission regulations not too far away and the need to eliminate older diesel engines meant Maruti Suzuki is expected to launch the Ciaz with an in-house developed new 1.5-litre engine. It is more powerful and torquier than the outgoing motor and will more likely be added to the Ciaz range this month. Dubbed DDiS 225, we were the first to reveal exclusive information regarding the engine back in January 2019. It is good enough to kick out a maximum power of 95 PS power at 4,000 rpm and 225 Nm of peak torque delivered between 1,500 and 2,500 rpm.

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz 1.5 Diesel Spied On Test Again; Launch Imminent

MARUTI-CIAZ-DIESEL-1.5L-1-696x472.jpg

Here we found another prototype of the Ciaz testing an all-new in-house developed 1.5-litre diesel engine. It will be introduced in the C-segment sedan soon and be more powerful than the long-running 1.3-litre unit that will be kept alive until being eventually taken out of the equation leading up to the BSVI deadline.

I'd first like to see a Ciaz with beefed up body, 6 airbags and a more powerful petrol engine. Diesel technology is likely to be on its last legs in the next few. years. Somehow doesn't make sense to me for Maruti to flaunt its diesel credentials at this stage.
