Re: Maruti Suzuki's Ciaz Facelift Coming in 2017

Maruti Suzuki successfully test Ciaz with Suzuki's 1.5l diesel engine.

Facelift Ciaz for 2018 will get the new 1.5L petrol as well, replacing the current 1.4l Petrol.
I just hope both these new 1.5 L engines are better in performance than the 1.5 Ivtec and Idtec of Honda. 1.5 L Ivtec of Honda is a gem so it requires great set of skills to develop an engine of same capacity with better / superior performance in petrol variants. 1.5 Idtec of Honda is not as refined and good so I hope, 1.5 Diesel of MSIL should be far better than that so that people genuinely accept this new diesel engine over the 1.5 Idtec.

Does the lazy attitude from the MSIL camp hints that they are confident on regaining the SHVS tax saver advantage through redefining GST slabs?

If the facelift is due in 2018, shouldn't we be seeing test mules already on road? Atleast can we expect to see a glimpse of them in the upcoming auto expo?
I really hope Ciaz gets the UV cut glass offered n Baleno.

I wish along with Ciaz update, Maruti also bring back Kizashi (or a car in that segment)

It seems someone is listening to you. Today, in team-bhp, they have reported spotting two test mules of the Ciaz have been spotted. It is assumed that these would be the testing the new 1.5 engines. The same cars were spotted even earlier in May, so I guess, we should be seeing them in the market next year.

Ciaz is VFM, that has been its USP with size, if they need to price it higher they would need better engines , better handling chassis, better brakes and tyres.

Unless Ciaz gets an engine above 1.5L [petrol/diesel] its not worth buying.
It proves its worth every month being on top of segment chart. These comments started coming right after launch that Ciaz will not affect city, it will die after some time. But all know what the reality is. It is even worth right now and after getting larger engines it will increase its lead further.

Well, when comparing cars, people forget to compare prices. Ciaz always has cut the competition prices by a wide margin, especially when SHVS was treated as a Hybrid and got concession VAT in Delhi with exemption from ood/even when the car was as polluting as any other car.

The engine changes would have an impact on prices, Maruti's always have some discount scheme goign and it is easy to Trade in your old car with a wide dealership with a loyal customer base. These factors will keep any Maruti product going.

Exactly. All these factors combined make this car a formidable player in the segment.

Re: Maruti Suzuki's Ciaz Facelift Coming Soon

There seems to be no changes on the outside, looks the same, which can be a downer.
Hope this is just for checking the new engine and the new facelift is similar to the pics shared earlier on this thread with bigger front grill, bigger AVN and other significant changes.
