Nithin, NO remote for Alpha. All yu have to do is Download an app form PlayStore or App Store and connect your phone to BT of the car. And you can use remote from mobile app. That is what my wifey is doing. [frustration] (Keeps changing tracks constantly)

Highway mileage at 80 or so is about 20-21. At over 100, FE drops to 17. My city FE is 13 but I drive through some of the most pathetic traffic

Correct. same here, but in city I am getting little more around 14 KMPL with AC on most of the time.

I have seen both colors and certainly grey looks better as the DRL is more effective and visible with this shade rather then white. But just see it by urself by going to Nexa stockyard near your location where they stock all these yet to deliver vehicles and see which suits you better.

Yup, European Baleno has the same weight as Indian version and scores 3 star rating for safety, i.e adult protection 80%, Child 73%. I think the car is not the safest but it is structurally stable unlike the Indian version Grand I10, Swift, Dzire etc.

Then Baleno is a better choice than Swift or Dzire.
