Re: Suzuki's New Premium Hatchback Baleno Now Launched!

Can somebody give a online link for a baleno body cover. I'm searching in online but didn't find a suitable one yet. If somebody purchased and using it, please give a link. Thanks.
Search in eBay.in. There are many choices starting from around 665 bucks and available in different varieties.

I got mine from a local shop for 1000 bucks. It is better to pay after checking out the quality of cloth in person.

^^I personally prefer the dedicated body covers which are available at the dealerships instead of the common ones available in the market. One can buy these 600-700-1000 rupees pieces but should forget the perfect fit. Sometimes the mirrors won't fit, sometimes the antenna won't and if both do fit somehow then something else is left.

I have bought the body cover from dealership itself. It fits in perfectly. It will cost you around 1000.

Thank you. I'll go with the dealer only.

I have opted for mud flaps from NEXA.

Just above the rear wheels nothing is covered in plastic. Seems the material used there is the same as floor mat. Is it normal in all balenos. Or it should be covered in plastic as part of Mud Flaps at the rear wheels too. Please suggest. But abooe the front wheels there is are plastic covers

Re: Suzuki's New Premium Hatchback Baleno Now Launched!

Hello friends finally got my Ray Blue Baleno Delta Petrol delivered on the 17th feb 2016, had booked it on 5th november 2015. A little bit about the zeroing in on Baleno...

I have been a bike lover all my life, I own a Honda Unicorn so that kind of taste surely would reflect in my car too. Now i started looking for various small car options in the below 6 lakhs INR bracket. It all started with the wagon R, a workhorse indeed, great mileage and space in that segment but somehow i knew the tin cans maruti makes so ticked it off the list.

Then looked for the i10, my brother owns it, a good car indeed, but fuel efficiency was low and the steering issue made me lose interest in it.

Then I looked forward to the european cousins, Polo and Punto. Somehow i always knew that german engineering is better and almost made my mind for a Polo but service horror stories and service costs got me step back and also the rear leg room in the Polo was a deal breaker.

Amongst all this Honda was always riding my mind, hence the pocket rocket Brio was my first choice, a gem of a car, cute looks were specially loved by my wife, however the 150 litre Boot was completely impractical. Thus with a heavy heart had to leave it.

The swift was straight away rejected for being extremely common. The i20 was a stunner and felt beyond my reach but then fuel efficiency and service costs kept me away from it.

So finally the only 2 options left were the Honda Amaze and the Honda Jazz. I didnt even know how to drive so my brother in law took the test drive of the Jazz, and even i could feel the weak low end. But somehow i was ready to take it having known that after all its a Honda. Suddenly news about the Baleno launch surfaced. Now i always thought that Baleno would be priced way beyond my budget as i had seen it in the case of the S-cross. However God had other plans. The day Baleno prices were announced the whole equation changed not only for me but for the whole automotive industry. Even today it seems, it was launched as if looking into my needs lol.
The baleno even though a maruti product but it just ticked the right boxes almost everywhere. The Delta had enough equipment for me to grab it at once. Booked it on 5th november and had a pleasant experience at nexa. I suppose pasco automobiles is not that bad as some of our fello TAIgers from mumbai and Bangalore have had to deal with. The RM Deepak Paliwal made things really easy for me. This helped me a lot for taking things as it should be for an informed car buyer. Did get to do a PDI 2 days before the delivery at the showroom. The car was perfect and a FEB 2016 manufactured vehicle, Manesar is only 20 kms from the nexa showroom.

Took only the mud flaps and the baleno mats, and later the car body cover as did look for it throughly in the market but couldn't get it. Got my seat covers from the market, almost the same ones that we get at nexa in silver and black for only 4200 including labour charges for the fitting(Full Bucket Fit). Bought the Door visors for 550, car perfume gel, a divinity for only 50 INR for which the dealer charges 350/- also bought a set of 3D mats, and silver scuff plates non illuminated type as for illuminations the wiring had to be cut thus taking the warranty for a toss.

Have already driven 1090 kms. First service is due will take it tomorrow. Rest the drive is a pleasure for the front seat driver and passenger. The rear seat comfort is stiff. On long drives older people will feel sick. But then the road presence is phenomenal. There have been times when people have asked me the price and have had a shock of their lives... i mean they couldn't believe their ears as to how such a big car can be bought in just 6.5 lakh rupees.

Congrats on the Baleno Ittefaaq. Ray blue is a good and photogenic colour, no doubts in that.

I agree with you on most aspects of the car. I have been noticing that most people are opting for Petrol engine in Baleno. The chief competitor i20 has an average petrol engine and this is the reason people are opting for Baleno. Baleno Petrol engine is refined but average, but feels better due to the lower kerb weight of the car. Similarly, Baleno Diesel is very normal to drive - nothing surprising or different from other Maruti diesels. Elite i20's diesel engine is a lot more better and most people opt for Diesel i20 over Baleno. One thing that can be concluded is that engines have a lot to do in deciding the success or failure of a car.

Jazz has a good mix but not many seem to be interested in it, at least here in NCR. I have seen that NEXA experience highly varies in different cities, and also with different individuals in the same showroom. How much was the on-road price for your car? 6.5L exact?

I completely agree to you sir... as far as petrol is considered baleno is the best option. I know honda is better car manufacturer than suzuki any day but then its the pricing which nuked the game for the jazz. Just imagine for almost the same equipment list the SV variant of the jazz costs about One LAKH more than the similar spec delta petrol of baleno.

The on road price of the baleno is approx 6.39 lakhs with zero dep insurance costing 19721, road tax is 29750, a temp. registration charge of 325, 2 years extended warranty at Rs. 8238 and mud flaps, and mats cost included in it. Apart from this around 10000 i spent on other accessories i bought as mentioned earlier... which makes the total car touch 6.5 laks.

I had checked out seat covers in gurgaon at a shop named jagdambe car accesories (opposite shyam sweets in sector 14) but then the price of the seat covers were around 5000 including fitting charges then i finally bought all accesories from kashmiri gate ( just at the exit of old delhi railway station). You get better prices and a huge variety of accesories.

Re: Suzuki's New Premium Hatchback Baleno Now Launched!

Just wanting to share my experience with the car today

I left at 9.30 for a 10am meeting, so I was running late. The drive was mostly highway with a average speed of over 50kmph. I was in a hurry anyway, so i was carving up the road without taking any risks. Max speed 100kmph on the Eastern Express highway here, in Mumbai. I got there in about 15 minutes (a distance of 25km or so) including slowing down at several points as I was looking to pick someone up. In all this aggressive driving, the MID showed 19.8Kmpl.

Inspite of my initial issues, I thing the car has settled down now.
Initial bounciness in the rear / stiff drive has gone away
The gear box still feels rough in the shifts, not as soft and smooth as the Swift's but there is nothing out of the ordinary
Some jerks while releasing clutch
No noticable drift from a straight line. Atleast I wasnt really paying attention because I was focused with driving around the sleepy morning drivers

Nice to know that the initial niggles of your Baleno have been sorted now. Now you can relax and enjoy the drive! How much have you clocked so far?

By the way, I also feel that the shifts are not slick enough, though the gates are well-defined (much better than Swift 1.2) and throws are short.

EDIT - In my car, when the front doors are opened, they require literally a lot of pressure/push to get past Stage 1 (out of 3 stages). Is this same in your car also? Any workaround?
