Though it got delivered on Saturday, most of sunday got used up in the interiors & Monday in getting upset over the aircon. On top, the did not give me a full feature demo at delivery. Will read & understand the features on Saturday

@Ameyam:
Sirji no offense but looks like your ownership experience is completely screwed up by the lemon err..Baleno you are handed by NEXA people.

Now I would suggest you to write to Maruti and await a response. Battery going kaput or getting quickly drained can point towards several issues. If Maruti guys don't give you a proper response (I personally never expect them to give it though, most of their lemon customers end up selling their cars banging their head with Maruti) then go to consumer court.

BUT

Court is a time and money consuming affair I must advise you.

Better option:
Sell the car (it can fetch a handsome value) or put it in exchange for any better vehicle which is having decent exchange bonus too these days.

No offense meant sirji but had I been at your place, I would have already sold the lemon in exchange for a better and proven product (I have done that twice; once in 13 days and once in 4 months). Decision can be tough but you need to give it a thought if things don't get in line very soon. Hold the car for some more time and just wish that everything gets sorted out as soon as possible.

The guys dropped off the car this evening. It was an alternator failure in the rectifier part. The workshop manager & maruti territory manager came in for that. Needless to say we gave them an earfull. Even asked them why the Nexa hadnt done a PDI

After all was said i asked him one question- what will happen if i get a fault in a couple of days? He replied dont worry, it wont happen. I told him that was not the answer to my question. I told him if it happens again, they will replace the car, yes or no? He didnt give a reply, just said it wont happen. Asked him if he was confident & he said yes. So i told him i will record accordingly in writing that they will replace the car in case of fault again. Took his email address and will put that email with copy to Maruti complaint department

I dont have the time to go to court & selling a brand new car will just give me a huge depreciation. Am going to hold on till it gives me a new fault. Then will speak to Maruti superiors directly instead of these local guys. Meantime, will record the issue on email to the whole world

Nice to hear that all is well now. [:)] Hope the car stays in perfect shape from now onwards without even slightest of niggles.

Do write to Maruti and others and make this issue public, as you have already planned.

A uery- do ECUs learn and adapt to our driving style? Over the last two days I am noticing the car now reacts faster to accelerator input. Still nowhere near the Swift but ists getting more peppy now. Either the car is learning or I am preempting. Case in point- I was out ragging the car a bit now to make any faults manifest themselves and shot by a group of bikers who were loitering. Not sure what gear I was in but I was really moving and their faces were worth seeing

I think partially they do adapt, not to our overall driving style but instant driving behaviour. I have seen this in a friend's Swift. When we redlined the car too much (in 1st and 2nd) for around 20-25 kms, the idle RPM rose to 1k or 1.1k and the car became more responsive (to throttle). On the same drive (on way back), when we were driving sedately in the 2.5-3k RPM range, the idle RPM was normal at 700 revs. So I am of the opinion that ECU does adapt according to driver inputs at a point of time.

Also, when we drive more and more kms on a particular car, we become more connected with the car and get to know its ability (and the way to achieve best results). So it might be that you are adapting to the car and are shifting or revving at the perfect timing.

May be i am. I am much of a touch rather than a squash the pedal driver. That used to be enough for the Swift to make a ru for the hills. The Baleno though didnt seem to want to accelerate with the same input. However, both times yesterday, i got the sensation i was going past 2k rpm before changing gear

I did do a pdi in the dealership ! But not under sunlight ! There was decent lighting though ! These dents are very small (a small line like ) which can be seen most on dzires and swifts ! My recent visit to dealership has confirmed this ! There were similar dents on the displayed balenos as well .
Note : they're visible only when viewed at an angle ! Please zoom in and have a look at them !
Odds are that I might not have spotted them while taking delivery !
These types of dimples and vertical dents not seen in swifts and dzires in the stock yards unless they were abused.

Is it possible to connect two phones AT A TIME via Bluetooth in a car. The issue I am facing is I have two phones one Windows (office) other I-Phone(personal). I tried to link windows phone via Bluetooth and then I-Phone via USB cable for Apple car play. At this stage system ask me to disconnect windows phone and link iPhone. This is irritating me as I want to take calls from office phone and personal phone and also want to listen songs from iPhone. So just want to know if every Bluetooth car works in this way(one connection AT A Time) or its just Baleno (system is designed this way or flaw in system). Sorry for this dumb query I'm not familiar with car with Bluetooth as I was driving Alto before.
Any solution for this issue? Or am I doing anything wrong? I can use Usb to listen songs but then can't take calls from personal phone if office phone is connected or vice versa

Hi Atlex,

Have you ever tried connecting two phones to the Same bluetooth headset, or tried to connect the same phone with Ear Phones as well as bluetooth headset?
The systems are designed to work with single input, its not possible to connect multiple phone devices at the same time.

I would like you to try the below steps.
1. Connect each of the phones using bluetooth, so the devices will be paired and the information would be stored in the system and then disconnect.
2. Now connect the first phone (keep it connected) and then try connecting the second phone using bluetooth.
3. In my Honda City if I remember correctly, mine and my brothers windows phones were connected via bluetooth at the same time.

Try the above mentioned steps and let us know the results.

Note : I may be wrong, but I still have a faint memory of connecting two phones at the same time via bluetooth.
