Hi Guys ,
I don't know if owners have not noticed or if they are not having the issue. Got my Baleno yesterday and 1 major issue is - it does not display caller's name on the ICE for both, incoming and outgoing calls, just displays the number, that's it.
How is 1 supposed to pick calls based on the numbers.
I tried this with couple of other baleno's in the showroom during test ride days and all had the same issue.
Anybody knows how to make this work ?
Anyone who was facing this issue and has now been able to resolve it ?
People in the ownership thread say that it displays the names, but how?

Did you copy contacts from your phone. Only pairing won't display names in ICE. Check that once. I am sure that contacts are not copied properly.

Hello Guys,

Even though is used to read this forum quite a lot, I am new to this forum as a member. Thank you for the membership. :)

I had booked a delta petrol and after around 6 months of waiting, getting it delivered, by this month end.

Based on this thread, most of the issues could be fixed, except for the suspension - which we need to get adjusted to [;)]

Also, i have also asked for a PDI - which they said they will arrange only after invoicing - that is after full payment. Is this the standard procedure?

Also, for the 'New' Baleno owners - do you guys find many faults with the car? (what i am trying to find out is if MS fixed some of the known issues in the new cars in factory?)

Regards,
Tony.

Regarding the PDI, I made sure I do the PDI first and then make the payment and I made it very very clear to my dealer that I would not accept the car and would not pay for it unless I am satisfied after a through PDI.
They are usually reluctant to it but then they have to agree because it is your right and I strongly suggest that you do the same because I had couple of issues and I got them sorted.

Suspension issue can't be rectified unless Maruti comes us with a solution in the next batch or may be a facelift. But the issue is not something that you can't live with. Please reduce the tyre pressure a bit and use nitrogen. I don't see that you will feel the problem much.

Yes, insist on doing a PDI. I never did a PDI for my last two Maruti car as the dealership was owned by someone close to our family. So unless you can have a trust on dealer better to do PDI.

Hey,
I did that actually. Not sure where I am mistaken.
Any step by step procedure for the same?
It asks if I want to transfer contacts,I say yes,and after some time nothing happens.
When when I try again,It says,overwrite 1000 something ? If I click yes,then again nothing happens.
Do you think the issue is because it seems it can can save only 1000 contacts and I have more than that ?

It may be the reason that ICE allows only 1000 contacts although I am not sure about this limit. Can you please check copying only few contacts to see if the ICE is displaying the name or not.

I thought of doing the same. But how would I do it ?
I dont think there is an option to copy slected contacts only. Or is there ?

Yes, you are correct. There is no such option to copy selected contacts. Probably you can export most of your contacts to a memory card and copy only few contact to ICE. I feel like the problem will be solved.

Thank you kushalarora and balenoed. I will insist on the PDI before Invoicing. I called my RM and he agreed on PDI after i pay an initial downpayment (20%). Is this ok? He told me to make the payment soon and only if i make the payment will the car be allocated to me. please note that the car is still not here and is on the way, as per my RM. is this how it works?

From what I understand, suspension is worse when the back row has 2 or more occupants right? it will mostly be my wife and kid sitting there (due to the airbags). Hopefully its not going to be bad for them. On the same note, i didn't find any suspension issues during test drive.[thinking] i did purposefully hit few potholes at medium speeds to test and my wife said it wasn't bad by any means.

Also my long trips will be on the brilliant roads in TN (at least 90% of it). Baleno should breeze through those roads (hopefully). My A-Star was also very good on these roads.

I would also like to know from the new Baleno owners if some of the issues mentioned here are already sorted by MS? Like how Suryaputra had mentioned about rumours regarding a correction on the door sheet metal? If somebody could throw some clarity on whether any of the recent recipients faced the stalling issue and the others in their new Balenos?

Also, i tried pressing on the doors and bonnet of A-Star and found that though they went in on applying pressure, came back to normal position on releasing the pressure. This means I already owned a Maruti with thin sheet metal and faced no major issues due to it.[clap]

Although having a PDI before delivery is your right, but considering the demand for Baleno dealer may have their own decision. Once the Baleno demand decreases the same dealer will offer you PDI without any payment. As far as I know the car does not get allocated in dealer level. At east in my case I got the VIN before the car reached hyderabad directly from Maruti. But it varies among dealers.

Trust me, The suspension issue is not at all something that you can't live with. If you came from the car which is of higher segment of Baleno, then you may feel a bit of difference. But if you are upgrading from a lower segment car, then its not at all a problem. The car comes with 40 PSI from the showroom. Please reduce it to 28 PSI and fill nitrogen. I don't think you will feel the suspension issue.

All cars in this segment have thin sheet metal. Please check elite i20 or jazz. In both cases you will notice that the sheet metal gets deflected.

Baleno is a nice car to own. I own one from last 9 months and very happy with my choice.

First of all, thanks to Moderators for approving my membership.

Guys, I need help from all of you regarding baleno. I am planning to book car tomorrow on occassion of Janmashtmi. Almost finalized Baleno Zeta Diesel but rear suspension issue talks are holding me back. Other car which suits my choice is Tata Tiago XZ Diesel but Tata service center availability and service reputation are major concerns.
I know both cars are from different segment but Tiago is great VFM whereas Baleno is with Maruti tag.
Please advice. My requirement is ABS+EBD, Dual Airbags, Alloy Wheels, Rear Parking Sensors, Good Music System, Central Locking.

Thank you Shri and Balenoed. The above line gives me a lot of confidence. [clap]

should i also consider the ford figo (1.5 diesel titanium is just 60K extra) with its recent price cuts?
Regards,
Tony.
