Got the alloys changed in my Alpha... The stock alloys according to me have to many spokes and look like a wheel cap when viewed from a distance. Changed to HRS alloys (Model no: H713). Attached a picture below

Also attached a pic of the car with the alloys (The wheels are a little dirty but the alloys look really good after a car wash and wheel polish)

Congrats on your possession.

The stock alloys indeed looks like a wheel cap. So did you exchange your alloys or just bought these alloys.

Please mention What are the pricing details.

Hey Sandeep,

I did swap my stock alloys for the new ones. The new alloys cost 28k and I got 10k for the stock alloys. I could have got more for the stock alloys had I chose to sell them myself but it would have resulted in longer waiting time so sold them to the alloy shop itself :)

Guys,

Anyone tried aftermarket fog lamps on the Baleno. My car already has fog lamps. But the illumination is poor. I remember how I used to give my headlights a break and drive on fog lamps in b2b traffic of the Swift. Thats just not possible on the Baleno

The alloy wheels have nothing to do with it. Its the shocks that are too stiff. I feel Maruti is quietly replacing shock for customers who complain. I did and they replaced mine. Its much better now though you can still feel the road jarring on sharp bumps.
If ride quality is a real concern for you, buy a sedan or compact sedan. The heavier cars drive softer

@amayem
Did they charge you anything for the shock replacement? And with wat model shock they replaced it? Do you think they will correct it for 2017 models?

@chemmutk,
they did the shock replacement under warranty. Since MS assigns part numbers themselves, I dont know the difference between the original and the review. Nor does the ASC.
With regard to whether the new cars will have the same upgrade, the newly delivered cars after June seem to have the new parts. However, that being said, you must understand that there is an underlying stiffness to the ride that MS wants to retain. It makes the Baleno handling more sporty but results in a harsher ride than, say the Jazz. The only thing is that the car now seems to float like some of the sedans, like sitting in a boat with those occasional sharp impacts when you encounter a pot hole

Hi amayem,
Is it true that Baleno with Alloy wheels is more bumpy in rare than Delta/sigma varient?
Hello chemmutk

We have been using the Baleno Alpha for close to 7 months now and have clocked a little over 5500 kms in this duration. I have to admit that the suspension is stiff (not exactly harsh) at the back. This stiffness has more to do with the suspension setup itself, though switching over to 15" rims (and thereby increasing the tyre sidewall) will definitely make it ride better. The difference would be negligible though unless you are specifically looking for the harsh behaviour.

Many people mistake Baleno for being bumpy. I call it 'stiff'. A Scorpio (old gen) is what I would call bumpy, and the Baleno is nowhere as bad as that. The suspension has less travel and is not very tight, which means the bumpiness can be felt on bad roads (potholes, etc.) but is quite absorbent while taking undulations at highway speeds. We don't have any issue with that as our car is used on highways mostly, but will still check out the possibility of getting new shocks under warranty! Greed, I tell you. :biggrin:

If you have experienced the Swift in the past, then there is not much to complain about. There is very little difference in the behaviour of the suspension of the two cars, though the Swift has an edge in overall driving dynamics.

There is nothing better than a test drive, but TD cars often have their tyres over inflated resulting in a harsh ride. So do check out on that!

Regards,
Alpha

Did any install side and bumber skirt to their Baleno ? Happened to see a baleno with ciaz skirt in a blog (Not sure whether its ciaz's or aftermarket). If anyone has installed, kindly post the pics.
