check your air filter, usually while installing lpg, mechanics use tape at air filter intake to make lpg run properly this tape makes car run rich at petrol similar to car running with choke on , please remove tape if any & tune the car on petrol after that check it on gas.

The higher you go in wattage of your system the more amps you need from your alternator.

The battery consumption too will increase, when the alternator cannot supply the needed amps the battery will be used cause it to get drained faster.

So if you want to add a kick ass sound (multiple speaker and sub woofers)system I would suggest upgrading your alternator first.

Also the stereo system and speaker can set you back 12k for a decent setup. If you want to go high-end then the sky is the limit.

For better understanding check out local car accessory shops.

As for the music system being beneficial, it wont help increase your cars mileage or add extra power. It is purely to enhance the driving experience and helps take your music with you when you travel. Its a way to personalize your car as per your taste and budget.

Thanks for the reply. I checked it but the issue was with the high tension cord from coil to rotor. I changed it... Now no problem [:)]

Re: Maruti 800: Technical Issues and Solutions

Need some help from fellow members regarding the replacement of back light bulbs of instrument cluster. The ones on my car seem to be fused. I hope this is a simple DIY. Please share the replacement procedure.
Also need to know what should be the reason for the long travel of clutch pedal. I have to floor the pedal to engage the gears otherwise they grind, making kirrr kirrr noise. Can the travel be adjusted or is it something else to be looked into.

Which make is your car, type 1 / 2 ? First need to remove 2 bolts of the steering coloum then the 4 screws of the instrument cluster, then the speedo console, finally twist the bulbs (2 bulbs).

Let me know if you need more details.

Thanks for replying, its a type 2 model. I plan to fix this issue by myself to prevent ill fitting by mechanics ( invitation to rattles). A pictorial guide will help much better. BTW are there only 2 bulbs to illuminate the whole cluster?
Also what wattage bulbs should i purchase.

Yes there are only 2 bulbs, OEM one comes with 3 watts, you can go for 5 watts which is fould on side indicators. Ask for pressing bulbs.

For the noise, may be the clutch cable is gone weak. Also for the play, there is a nut behind the radiator (clutch cable) just tighten it with your hand then see whether you are able to freely engage the gears, if not loosen the nut a bit.

Varun you surely seem to have an in depth knowledge regarding 800s. [:)]
Ok will check the nut and make adjustments. The noise from GB is the usual grinding which appears while shifting when the clutch isn't fully engaged.
FYI i bought the said 800 a week back from true value, so will be troubling you as i face new issues. I hope you don't mind. ;)

Re: Maruti 800: Technical Issues and Solutions

Hi all [:)] i have friend who has a M800 95 model, his clutch seems very hard, i mean peddling the clutch is very tough compared to my car. I was wondering what might be the cause! I checked the gearbox oil, its almost 85% filled and seems good too. He consulted some mechanic according to him there's some prob with those clutch plates n need to change. Is it the real cause and how mush it may cost to replace it?? Please do help :)
Thank you in advance :)

Re: Maruti 800: Technical Issues and Solutions

How long have you used the existing clutch?(No. of years since it was installed and km's travelled using this clutch)

Is there any problem while climbing with and without passengers?

We doesn't know whether the clutch plates had been replaced before, But its been 4 years since he owns the car until now he hasn't changed it. Now its almost completed 78k km. Sorry there's a wrong info in my above post there's NO OIL at all in the gearbox, i have noticed some leakage too!!

And No, there's no gear slip or shifting problem, But the car makes some big noise sometimes while starting (Not every time)...

The mechanic told us it might cost around 4k, Sounds a bit costly. Whats your opinion??
