Re: Maruti 800: Technical Issues and Solutions

If there is no oil why not fill the oil after getting the leak taken care of.

The mechanic must have quoted parts+labour might be including the gearbox oil.

Find the cause of the leakage.Get that issue addressed first.Try changing the clutch cable as well.See if the pedal shows improvement immediately after that.

If not then only go for a clutch kit replacement.

Also It would be a good idea to start a new thread and post all your car problems there.Makes it easier for other members to access your posts and you will get more help as well.Just name the threads appropriately and help will be on the way.

Thanks, Please feel free to post your queries.

There are many DIY experts for 800 in our TAI.

Also start your ownership review..
Yeah i am surprised to see that. BTW will start a new thread soon.

Anyways got the clutch issue sorted out to some extent, replaced the clutch cable with a new MGP one (cost Rs 131).
Will try my hands on the instrument cluster bulb replacement tomorrow.

Get the wiper blades changed.. For the fog inside the car just switch on the A/C in defroster mode so that there will be no fog formation.

Re: Maruti 800: Technical Issues and Solutions

I am planning to change the tail lamp of my 800 as the lenses are broken. I need to know whether the type 3 ones are a direct fit on type 2 model. Also can i use the existing bulb holders in the new fitting ?

Yes type 3 tail lamps are direct fit. You need to buy new bulb holder.

I suggest you buy lumax it comes with bulb holders too. The quality also is good. (OEM ones are lumax)

Re: Maruti 800: Technical Issues and Solutions

I bought a pair of Lumax type 1 for Rs 380.
Type 3 may be for Rs 450 a pair.
For type 3 I have paid 800 rs a pair 6 months back, may be it has reduced now.
Reduction in spare part prices, [lol], Bought the pair today, the cost came to 412 a pc i.e. Rs 823. The make is Minda but there are no bulb holders present. Actually type 3 bulb holders aren't available here. Guess i have to use the type 2 ones.

@Shantanu.lko: Any pointers on the availability of type 3 tail lamp holders??

You can use the type 2 holders but, It needs some effort to fix as the clips are in different position. I guess you will have trouble with indicators.

I am using type 2 holders in one of the tail lamp.
