Re: Mahindra XUV5OO: "The Dark Knight" Buying and Ownership Experience
Awesome. Will start reading it right away!!!
Thanks truecitylover , my review on civic is done now
Btw yesterday i spent at the Mahindra workshop to try and find solutions to the alarm issue , we checked the wiring near the bonnet and taped it in one or 2 places. Next step would be replace the bonnet sensor if the problem doesnt fix now...
Checked up the entire underbody as i do have some offroad trysts, all looking good...
Also got a software update done 3.0.6 lets see what improvements it brings - i had a good time watching all the mahindra diagnostic manuals and how the mahindra diagnostics works and various modules in it - mahindra have done a good job to make it easy for lay man mechanics to figure out issues. I also played around with the software a bit - it was good fun - the guys at mahindra are chilled out. Learnt the update process which is a 2-3 step process depending on whether u update the maps too. There is also a new flashing tool available now ver 1.4.
1) Flashing from the laptop via the standard port - within this there are several modules that can updated one by one(depending on wherever the change is )
2) Using a USB to update infotainment (using similar files as above) Steps 1 and 2 need to be done back to back.
3) If there are maps update then use the maps usb(top console) to update tht too.
For all the initial folks complaining abt the brake pads grinding noise - good news mahindra is replacing them with modified brake pads free of cost and that solves the problem 100%
Also of interest is they would be opening the bookings somewhere around the 17th Jan and there might be a lower end model launched (probably same time or later) - i am talking of a more stripped down version than W6 which will be the W4 - i am guessing after the price increase this is another strategic move to ensure they have more bookings this time around too and they cover a better price range with XUV. I had mentioned earlier on the XUV thread that the W4 model is already ARAI approved and ready for launch.
