An info from an insider (please do not ask to validate this source) -

The consistent niggles reported in the XUV has not gone well with the top management in Mahindra. Action is being taken from the highest level.

They have formed a panel to find a solution to this and called in experts from Spain (which includes specialist test drivers) to iron out all the glitches.

M&M should stop procuring Infotainment from crappy Nippon and instead procure those display from JVC.

Most of the issues reported are from this system.

For reverse parking assistance they should have the one's that was in Scorpio-Vlx, which provides assistance in mirror.

Instead of choking every feature in the infotainment system.

Re: Why Aria Failed to Take-off But XUV Did??

Why do you think like that? I hear this everytime in this forum.

Why would everyone be partial towards Mahindra or unfair towards TATA? Both are Indian brands and infact TATA is a much bigger manufacturer. There should be some reason...
As far as i know there is no case ARIA engine totally failed and replaced by TATA. but the amount of negative publicity generated for ARIA or NANO is much more than M&M cases.

Iam not a TATA fan .

I do not base my decisions on what others feel about my car, but what it offers me.

So far my experience with TATA cars is good. My Indica Vista aura Qjet has clocked 55K. Stock tyres lasted 54K, Brake pads lasted 55K. so far no breakdown of electrical's. Stock wiper blades lasted for 55K. I do not take any special care. I just park in sun in my office for the last 3.5 years

Where as my brother in law's Innova had clutch change at 25-30K,

I had 3K and 6K highway trips for 7 and 16 days. it has never failed me or stranded me anywhere.

I feel XUV is very good marketing success due to price and clever packaging. ARIA is a much bigger vehicle than XUV . all that costs a lot both in terms of material and also vehicle dynamics.

Nano's fire catching incidents were not a one off case. Many Nanos were getting ablaze one after the other and there was something wrong with the car. That is the reason a separate thread was made.

PM me your email id, I will send you the links where you can see Aria having engine failures. And you are right, TATA did not replace the engine, they just kept the car in the ASC, for 28 days in one case.

Where as my brother in law's Innova had clutch change at 25-30K,
It also depends on your BIL's driving style and traffic conditions.

Re: Why Aria Failed to Take-off But XUV Did??

Your post clearly encapsulates what i meant to say

Go through that paricular thread it clears shows that more than one i10, vento, merc's, swift and other cars have burnt. they are not one off incidents as you have mentioned.

6 or 7 NANO out of two lakh sold have burnt. it is news.

30+ lakh brand new BMW burnt in bangalore recently immediately after delivery. It is not news. in my book this too deserves a separate thread, not buried a single post in some other thread.

If any car clutch or other parts broken, it is either due to normal wear and tear or due to driver driving style. in case of TATA is due to TATA.

+1. Agreed on this. There is big biasness of the media towards certain car makers.[anger]

I got a chance to drive a XUV in Nagercoil. It was a green AWD model belonging to my dad's friend. In the town limits, it was a breeze to drive and 3rd gear was all I needed unless the speeds gets really low. Those ORVMs gave good visibility, steering light enough, strong brakes. Ride quality at those speeds was simply amazing. Overall, I got very much comfortable in a short amount of time.

The mileage he is getting is 12-14kpl. He doesn't have any complaints other than poor interior plastics. And GC is not as generous as his Safari 4WD. I think he got the car a month back and it is yet to go for its first service.
