Re: Mahindra XUV500 Facelift Spotted!

Still no solid story regarding facelift version. Im now proud owner of XUV500 W6 satin white. Its been 2 months I own this beast and every drive is simply amazing. Reaching 5000km mark.
As there is no solid story regarding facelift launching anytime soon, people who are sitting on fence whether to buy or to wait, I think there is still plenty of time for facelift to launch. Hence should buy it without wasting any time.

Re: Mahindra XUV500 Facelift Spotted!

Mahindra, all of us that had the dilemma of buying whether the old or the facelift XUV have ended up being disappointed and most of them going for the old XUV. I say its a pathetic strategy. Forcing customers to buy the old XUV is not only shameful but I pity those people who are going to buy the old XUV and imagine they see someone taking the new XUV out just the next week. Imagine how it must feel to buy a BRAND NEW OUTDATED CAR! Atleast start providing info on the facelift to your dealers. Well guys lets put together a comprehensive list of what to expect from the new XUV for the buyers who are in the above stated dilemma-

The new XUV will get-
new headlamps
more features
maybe a new engine with 170 horses and with a bigger turbo.
sunroof
tweaks on the interiors
the huge black portions on the front which were disliked by many ( me too ) are also going to be removed.
new alloys
expect price to be hiked

If there is anything I missed guys, do tell or add it yourself. If there is anyone going for the XUV and doesn't need it urgently then wait for the facelift guys. Its worth it.

Re: Mahindra XUV500 Facelift Spotted!

Currently they are testing new quanto AMT, compact suv s101/102 and then there s xuv500 facelift?? There is no given timeframe for it to be launched. Going by mahindra they took so long to launch new scorpio with new chasis it will definitely take much more time for new XUV500. I got my w6 in January 2015. And its april now. Still no sign of the facelift version. And trust me i will certainly not regret because 3 months has been happy drive and yes its worth every penny! Just go for it

Nah, I don't agree with the new chassis part The car has good handling and everything a monocoque should have. Are they trying to make it into a ladder on frame chassis? I don't think so. The car already is good enough and needed little improvements which includes- reliability of electronics, front looks, and last row space. The chassis is absolutely perfect and there is no need to improve it. There has to be another reason for delaying the launch for so long. Also BRO! I have an X3 [glasses] what do I need the XUV for? [evil] . Anyways where is the ownership review buddy? Come on, I believe many of us are waiting for it.

Mahindra XUV500 facelift spied.

Updated XUV to get new headlamps, grille, chin and added touches of chrome along with new alloy wheels. Likely to be launched in may 2015. There is no news whether the updated XUV500 will get any mechanical changes or any changes to its interior

As seen in the spy pics, the XUV500 gets most of the changes at the front. The new two-part headlamps get what looks like “L” shaped chrome inserts. There’s a new chrome grille and the area below the headlamps get chrome inserts as well. There’s also a new chin that consists of what looks like a faux aluminum skid plate which gives it a more of an SUV look.

Moving on to the sides, the only change visible on the updated XUV500 is the new 10-spoke alloy wheels which look sportier than those on the earlier car. At the rear, there are no visible changes except that the license plate garnish has been increased in size.

the headlamps are very strange. actually the fog lamps are outer than headlights which give it a strange look. I can see 'eyebrow' Led strip from Scorpio.

overall look is very much xylo-ish. and I'm dissapointed.

This is again a classic example of Mahindra re-working its vehicle based on customer feedback! I would say its a good attempt and from my point of view it looks ''Okay''.

Regarding the design, it would look more appealing if the updated air dam below the number plate would have been more wider with a bit smaller fog lamp covers. Technically there is no need of wide ''L'' shaped fog lamp covers, its '' a-la '' Hyundai design and does not make any appeal on this XUV. Hope M&M has taken care of all small technical issues raised by the owners so far.

hey SiriSiri888

how's the suspension? do you feel the bumps ? I happened to drive one of Zoom cars's in bangalore
I could feel every bump and shifting of gear lever is not as smooth compared to other premium cars !
every time when I need to slow down to go over puddles or humps (with 5 passengers) I need to shift to gear 1 to move !!
looking forward to see your unbiased and honest review

From my past 2 and half month ride my odo reads 7900km. Its been fun altogether. Suspension is firm and is made in that way to provide stability at higher speeds on the highways. I usually clock around 80 odd kms daily and its a highway drive with bumps on the way. At lower speeds yes u feel little jerky but not as much as other cars in comparison. Speed up a bit it calms down. Easy to zoom around in corners at higher speeds. Steering is pointed and takes you where u command. On city roads its kind of mixed bag. Yes it drives so well in city as well but the bumps do get into cabin. Middle and rear row do feel as loud thud. Regarding the gear shift its fine IMO. Small puddles just drive around. Its only the big ones u need to slow down. But keep in mind its designed for higher speeds and its a highway cruiser. Given the equipment lists it boasts, and VFM and punchy engine and safety features built into it, I certainly dont mind [:D]

Super Catch by Autocar

Finally we get to see new XUV, though pics are not that clear,

what I can see here,

New Grill with Chrome Insert and Slate Mustache Chrome type on Grill.
Grill will be blackened like other siblings (Xylo, Quanto, Scorpio).
Skid Plate is looking nice.
Fog lamps taken upwards but Chrome housing not looking good
Headlamps are good upmarket. Wish the LED strips has to work as DRL (come on Mahindra its 15 Lakh car). However the "S" shape LED is welcome.

Now things which I am expecting from this facelift.
More powerful engine 160 BHP to compete with upcoming TATA Varicor 400 Storme Safari.
Bonnet Scoop may give more Muscular looks, like T-Fort
Side Fender Bezel like Scorpio or Endeavour
Rear Spoiler, Rear Bumper with Twin Exhaust housing,
Door Handles,

Interior
Mainly Space in 3rd Row leg room or sliding of 2nd Row seats
Shiny Glossy Middle Dashboard to replace with dark which reflects in day time.
Instrument Cluster from Twin Dial to some rectangle.

As per Motoroctane new XUV is due for launch in May and TVC are about to shoot.

This year major launch of UV's by Mahindra

I am desperately waiting for New Bolero & Micro SUV (CUV)
