I will bring the car and get it inspected thoroughly. Can I quote your name as reference ? I think Mr.Vinay Bhat who is working there now, worked with Chrome Motors earlier.

Does any one has a maintenance checklist after Scorpio crosses 1 lakh km ? Does Scorpio burn one's pocket after it crosses 1 lakh km ? I am planning to keep it till 2020, but now, I many have to rethink my plan [thinking]

On an average, with out any major trouble, how long has m-Hawk lasted ?

Hi All ,

With respect to the recent updates on My Scorpio .

I have got the complete suspension bushings shockups Changed at 70000km . After which for some time all was fine . But then My car body started rattling . Hav a lot of sounds while crossing the potholes .

Upgraded Tyres to Yokahama AT from pal tyres for 26000

Clutch plate and components changed after the Bearing leaked and the car was stalled leading to Towing of the vehicle . Cost me 23000 from a local garage with all original Mahindra spares used .

Now I am FAcing the following issues ,my beast has clocked 83000km and the expenses aren't stopping

1) AC Blower MAking a lot of noise
2) AC gas leakage with a hissing sound from under the dashboard with Slight reduced Cooling
3) The other day while braking I felt as if the tyres were being dragged intermittently and after that my brake pedal touched the floor ,but retained normal position after pumping a few time . Thank god there was no traffic at the time .
4) I wish to see some garage in Mumbai who could help me with the body rattles as whenever I try raise the complain it is either ignored or they jus randomly say that they have checke dthe bolts but still the problem persists .

Please help guys .

I have spent a lot and maintained the vehicle . yet even after 83000km there is no smoke white or black being emitted . and the car is as smooth as butter . but due to the expenses I am incurring I wish to take a harsh discision .

Last month I got a 80k km service from M and M costing me rs 16000 and the very next week the clutch overhaul cost me rs 24000 . totaling to 40000 in one month .

I seriously need some one who can take the rattling part seriously and get it to minimum rest issues are solvable and can be handeld .

OBD Port and reading from mobile can you please give more information on this ?
I have not faced any loss of pick up and also if there was some error code I would expect the check engine light to appear so did not try connecting OBD , I will try that
The sound is coming from the oil sump
I wil visit Bay 6 shortly

I am using the Torque Pro app downloaded from the playstore for 200INR and bought the OBD connector online, ref link below.

The obd connector is on the right of the steering wheel near the boot opening switch below the dashboard covered with a plastic cap.
Yep Bay6 definitely seems to be a very good option, the head mechanic has good knowledge on scorpio.

Hello doc,
Could you trace the source of the rattling noise? Do they come every time you drive or just when you are on a bit of rough roads?
Source of the rattles eg: Underbody, Engine Bay, Doors etc. Because rattling is definitely an issue which needs an immediate solution.
My rattling sources were the Underbody, Suspension, Somewhere in the Engine Bay and the Rear Door.
Most of them were solved in a single visit by retorquing the bolts and thick greasing the necessary joints and replacing the damaged bushes of the suspension.
Tell the ASS guys to completely lift up the car and do a thorough examination.

I have a Scorpio S4+, Aug 2015. This vehicle have a problem in Back Gear engagement. It slipped back to neutral and some time a retelling sound generates insteade of moving reverse. I always have to push hard to engage the gear properly. This is really inconvenience to always give an extra effort to reverse back the vehicle.
Such a successful car like Mahindra Scorpio these shortcoming is inviting risks of sales depreciation in future and sure to be negetive alarming if ignored.
The ASC mechanic inspected and replied that the third generation Scorpio gear box this is the normal behavior. .
He also said that 1st gear and reverse gear act in the same manner for all Scorpio w.e.f. Sep 2014 (I.E. 3rd Gen).
Earnestly request for suggestions , comment and expert advice

1) Brake issue as mentioned in my previous comment The Brake floors to the ground with mild braking and then comes back after pumping . Many say that it is th emaster cylinder . ASS gave me a hint that it is the ABS unit Costing rs 38000 . there is no ABS light that has come up .
2) Vibrations on Steering at all speeds .
3) Body feels loose when riding at any speeds through potholes .

Please help experts . I jus have time till Saturday to fix these issues .

1.looks like the master cylinder. Any oil leakage?
Regarding the ASS 'hinting'. They just can't hint or guess. Ask them to hook that laptop and scan for any specific error code.
2. Get all the wheel balancing and alignment done. How are the tyres?
3.ask the ASS to retorque All the suspension components and chasis bolts.

DO NOT drive down unless the brake issue is fixed. your vehicle is a hazard to yourself & other road users.

points 2 & 3 can be fixed by alignment & suspension re torquing.

Hi ,

The Issue has not yet been resolved . I have changed the master cylinder and got the break bleeded too .

I have done my trip a from mumbai to karimnagar and back . the brake went in atleast 4 to 5 times . I have noticed that this happens when ever there is big pothole which is not avoided .

This has become a serious problem . and the solution is unknown . If it was an abs issue then the problem would persist irrespective of the scorp falling in the pothole or even if its a straight smooth road .

But even at high speeds there is no such issue . Its only when the pothole encounter is harsh .

1 more issue while returnin that i faced is the steering has been wobbling even at slow speeds i suspect the ball joints have to be replaced soon .

Requesting help in terms of Brake issue .

Spoke to manoj khanna and hav an appointment fixed on the comin wednesday . Quite a frank guy i must say .

The workshop is far away from my place but i dont mind if the issues are sorted out .

Reverse and 1st synchronisor might be worn out, you need to change new one, ask service people to change all syncro for all as once opened, you can see other damages so, overhauling will be a good choice.
Also check clutch , if need to be replaced, its better now , so you can save some labour

Check brake lines, for any bulge or leak. Especially from metal pipe to rubber extension to calliper.
Take car on ramp, and wiggle Tyre horizontally and vertically, give a punch on side of wheel, you should not hear and see and shake.
If so , tie rods, CV joint , wheel bearing need to be checked.
