Yes , infact he is a expert in turning things around . He was head of GM India when in USA GM declared bankruptcy .
He brought new models like cruze , beat in India and launched the " chevorlet promise " initiative in India .

Now being head of tata motors he had launched " horizon next " .

1.Avrage quality interiors, Some are quite filmsy.
2.Low GC (Compare to Ertiga) experianced it when 7 on board.
3.Low mileage (Compared to Ertiga)
4.Little bit difficult to city drive.
5.NVH - high.

Misc
1.Cost is almost same for both cars (considering discounts on Eartiga now)
2.Eartiga drives nicely in city and on highway.

Did you TD Ertiga? Ertiga and Storme are in different segments in every aspect. Did you TD both cars? How did you feel after TD?
Had ID of both

Eartiga TD:
1.Driven ZDi,5 people on board
2.Drives smoothly in city.Turbo kicks quickly and then its mindblowing ride.
3.Low NVH
4.5 people can sit comfertabely in Ertigs (front 2 + 3 in middle row).Middle row space is better than swift,Ecosport. (We just tested this with same 3 people sitting back to back in these 3 cars)
5.Last row is comfertable for 2 average build person. (personally experianced)
6.Suspension is also good.
7.Driver visibilty is nice.
8.Good music system
9.AC is good.
10. Breaking is also better.

I had driven storme with IR while he was doing official TAI review.
But I will do some TD's again.

And these are my observatoins which I had already posted in storme review thread.

Well, I am a die hard safari fan ,I liked everything of storme.
Few things I would like to mention
1.It drives almost like a sedan no typical feel like a big suv.
2.Turning radius (its less that my current zen)
3.No turbo lag felt - picks up nicely at 3rd 4th.
4.Very low NVH
5.Good for city as well as highway driving.
6.Superb paint quality.
7.ABS in base model LX - total VFM

Alright but everything is positive in this review na? How about the negatives that you felt about Ertiga and Storme?

Let me remind you Ertiga is a pratical MUV will Storme is proper SUV. Performance wise storme has almost 50-60% more power than Ertiga and also has abundance of torque. Basically you can't compare these two and only equal point between the two are they both fall in same price point.

Do you need a proper 7 seater or spacious 5 seater? Please clarify as i found the rear seats of Storme very cramped and an average adult if seated in rear seat for more than 2 hours will have to visit a Doc for back pains.

Ertiga and Safari are two very different vehicles to drive.Also if your main purpose if for carrying people on and off city or highway runs look no back then Ergita, its a perfect UV vehicle for that purpose which would also give you good FE compared to Safari.

Well ,there will not be always 7 people on board. So both are ok for me.

No mate its not about weird comparision,but think about the real usage you would be with this vehicle and take the plunge, i am not against safari, its one superb vehicle to own.
Both the vehicles serves differently so asked you that for people mover ertiga is the right choice with better seating option, better FE.
With safari would love to drive, specially highways, but not comfortable for more then 5 adults on board, more powerful engine.

Never mind buddy , apple vs apple is no brainer for experienced TAIn like you.It's the apple vs orange comparison which needs additional acetyl choline .

If kids are going to occupy 3rd row most of the time (whenever last 2 seats are required), then front facing 3rd row of Ertiga is safe for them rather than side facing of storme's.

But don't forget it's TATA'S home made steel used to construct the Storme , no brain ,er , it's stronger and safer than Ertiga.

When we talk of safty , features are biggest USP of XUV , waiting for W4 isn't wise IMO.

When you drove Ertiga didn't you feel it had turbolag till 2000rpm? I felt the turbolag was very evident in Ertiga. Also Strome would be far more powerful when compared to Ertiga. Storme has 2.2L engine which has an output of around 138BHP while Ertiga's small MJD has only 1.3L and outputs 89BHP only. But FE in Ertiga will be close to 16Km/L while the best Storme can give would be 12KM/L.

When you compare power of one car vs other, do consider the weight of the cars. A heavy vehicle requires more power to move and thus gives you less mileage. Also understand the concept of power vs torque. Several smaller cars may easily beat the storme in pick-up but on a hill climb (or heavy hauling) storme would easily win. Note: I am talking about straight incline and not zig-zag hill climb.

Yes I did, but it is not that annoying and not a problem to drive in city traffic.

As I am running a similar race between Storme and XUV but yet to decide on one. I have been following this thread also. One thing I liked a lot in Storme so far is its seating elevation. One of my neighbors recently got Red Erriga. They are very delighted with Ertiga when I checked with them.
