Re: Isuzu D-Max V-Cross Cruise Control

Final Step test the installation :-

Long press the ON/OFF button to start the Cruise, the display should zero and cruise on. Please note long press is the key here, it also gives a small beep. The rest of cruise functions include set, resume all works as intended and as is normal.

Long pressing the cancel button will trigger the speed limiter, this will only work with cruise off. You can set the limiter speed that you would want to set here

The throttle controller mode can be set using the res button and it is like a rotary switch which goes from economy to stock to S1, S2, S3 -> Res will put in circular mode while the set will set it. Again this will work with cruise off and when you are not engaging the accelerator pedal.

Obviously cruise control will disengage with the use of brake and accelerator.

All of the above has been done and tested on my own Vcross - however i do not take any responsibility for your actions or preserve your warranty - this is an enthusiasts work ! I am however more than happy to help you install and answer any queries around it.

The kit can be bought from the below links and costs under 250$ off alieexpress , its the only kit tested for the Indian dmax vcross. please do your own research before you purchase.

Superb DIY with attention to detail on every aspect right from scratch till testing. Looks like this will take your enjoyment quotient of the truck to another level. Do share details on FE and also on performance changes with different modes of throttle controller.

Yes this one took quite a bit, the PS was easy in comparison for installing the cruise control.

Thank you sir, sorry for my delayed response, the travels take you off the grid and the habits. I will share the changes shortly with the throttle control modes.

Re: Isuzu D-Max V-Cross Ownership Review: The Japanese Samurai Arrives [8K Kms Crosse

Hi memo45_m , have pmed you my coordinates can talk offline.

AG, the throttle controller has 5 modes overall

1) Econ (lower than stock)
2) Stock
3) Sport 1 (higher than stock)
4) Sport 2 (higher than S1)
5) Sport 3 (higher than S2)

I dont have measuring equipment but each mode adds about 3-5% more than the standard, so at S3 the vehicle feels more responsive by about 12-15% or so. Note it doesnt improve power figures but simply improves responsiveness.

Offcourse Sport modes will have a negative impact on FE.

Similarly in eco mode, it diminishes throttle response further and this leads to more sluggish behaviour but increases FE. My overall tankfuls have been in the 12-13 kmpl range. I find the PS more efficient in city whereas vcross gives me better on highway runs compared to PS.

More details as i have more data! Cheers!

^^
So the throttle controller is simply changing the linearity of the throttle percentage with respect to the travel of the pedal. Should be fairly easy to see this with a OBD tool.

PS being more efficient in city is quite a revelation.

Re: Isuzu D-Max V-Cross Ownership Review: The Japanese Samurai Arrives [8K Kms Crosse

^^ yes it simply accentuates, so 2 inches of pedal travel could be 2 cm in a s3 mode (just a hypothetical example) - so it creates a feel of responsiveness.
It will be still hard to measure this with OBD hence.

Yes PS third gear is very efficient in city - i can get more from PS than VCross in my similar city runs. But you know my driving style

Meanwhile picked up a cargo net for the isuzu bay - the luggage if scarce can move around so this net will come handy. Its elastic and adjustable.

Thats one hell of a job.[clap] Never knew that cruise control can be installed after market.
Just wanted to know that a seperate display is installed for this purpose. Is the option of this not available on the speedometer display?

^^ Thank you vdm295 - everything can be done aftermarket - just a question of research and then vitamin m (thankfully this didnt need much).

Yes display is because this option isnt available in the vcross display and also they are other display items like throttle controller modes, fatigue alert, guzzling alert etc
