Re: Hyundai Xcent: Review | Test Drive | Pictures

Out of topic may be. Few doubts of mine. Newbie, just done FFS at 1400KM ( four days short of two months)
1. Doesn't xcent have spare bulbs? Where will it be stored. Will changing the bulb cancel the warranty?
2. Petrol VTVT S - does putting AC on create lag on the car? I feel the difference in power when its off / on forcing down shift or switching ac off.
3. Company recommend oil change @ 10000km but should we wait till that?

Few of a hundred questions typical for a first time car owner. Haha. I fell in love in first sight with the car, loved the features. Quite head turner on roads. But few negatives here and there, can live with it..

Thanks .. Darshan

@dgovin

1. I have received two Philips Spare bulbs and dealer gave it along with welcome kit(user manual, etc)
2. Yes, a little bit. I downshift very frequently while on A/C, to overtake in highways.(Not always)
3. Depends. It will be better if you change it during your second free service as suggested by many in TAI(To remove any small metal parts or impurities from oil).

oh ok.. i am afraid i havent noticed the spare bulbs yet.. will check out today :)

about the lag, yeah, am afraid i do the same when AC is on. feels the acceleration has its own thoughts to output. how hard we press, it takes its own time :/

thanks bro

Re: Hyundai Xcent: Review | Test Drive | Pictures

^^ Been driving cars like SX4, Figo, Verito, Santro and Alto k10 for some years, I feel this car is bit on sluggish side, and I am wondering how Diesel version will behave, if 1.2L petrol behave like this. 1.1L diesel is a bit of a let down and 1.4L would have been nice for the price. 1.4L Diesel Xcent will give Amaze such an hard time for sure. This is just my opinion.

If this is the case with MT, what AT user's will feel about the car?

Yeah. As you said, 1.1L is real low as we all expect diesel to be more powerful. I feel Xcent was mainly aimed for city drive. I am planning around 1500km one side drive in a year or so, but to be frank, doesn't feel the confidence with this car.
By the way, I have termed this as my new love, girlish car.. Not a beast .. Sob sob.

What is the maximum distance from which smart key of Xcent can be operated?

Reason for asking: Today just out of curiosity i used it to see whether it works from my home on 5th floor. And it worked [shock]

This is obviously not normal if it happens when the car is in motion. For how long do the needle lights remain off?

Your car's ownership manual might have the remote range specified.

The extended warranty provided can be availed within 2 years of ownership. Can anybody please advise whether I should avail it now or wait just before end of 2 years as I might get some discount or may be another year extended?

Made a recent short trip last weekend, for about 600kms and will post short review about the trip and how my car behave. Overall, it was nice and suspension setup surpasses my expectations.

Took my xcent to service today. Tacho and speedometer needle not working issue: they said some fuse was a bit loose and they have resetted it. Clutch was a bit tight, they adjusted free play (thats how thety termed it) and it seems fine now.

Xcent don't come with spare bulbs- that's what the sales advisor told me.. Really? That's odd
