Re: Life with the All New Hyundai Verna

so how much mileage are you getting ?

and two problems which you mentioned have been faced by many members.

vishak and nick - headlight fog.if they have approved your's then they must approve their claim as well.

rear view camera becoming hazy - normal in rains. don't know if it's a defect or not.

Um.. if many people have faced the problem then I believe its a serious lapse on the company's end.

On an average city 9-11, Highway 12-15 ( depending on my mood of driving [evil] and traffic)

Re: Life with the All New Hyundai Verna

Ok so heres my experience with the Fluidic Verna:
Its been 9 months since I bought the car. I must mention that my car has a very low running. Till now I have only managed to clock 3000 km. I like the value for money features ( like the Bluetooth streaming of music, rear view mirror and camera and stuff). Plus I am pretty satisfied with the milage ( it’s a petrol so have to be milage conscious in this country). I have not modded the car a bit.
However in the past few months I have had more that 2 manufactuing defect with the third one on the way. First was a squeeking noise coming from the back. The service centre incharge said they have these complains on and off which is due to a welding defect. To correct this they had to remove the back seat and apply some sort of cement which made the noise disappear. Also there was a constant tic tic tic noise which used to come from the back when the car went beyond 60kmph. However the noise disappeared by itself and the cause could not be found out.
Next with very little rainfall, fog started accumulating in both the front headlights which necessitated another visit to the service centre, where they forwarded the complaint to the company and I have received news that the claim has been approved and both the headlights will be replaced once the part arrives at the service centre.
Also now the rear view camera has become hazy due to the rains which does not seem to be better on cleaning the camera from outside. This is at a time when the region has not received a great bit of rainfall. So the next complaint is waiting to be sent already before the previous one is resolved.
With my 8 year old Santro which I owned previous to this car, I had had fewer visit to the service centre. Plus with such a light usage I do not expect so many problems in the first couple of years.
Well to sum it all up I have forgotten that I have bought a new car. But I still like the car and it’s a pleasure to drive. Just a bit irritated with these manufacturing defects.
Sad to hear such issue [cry]
i had the same headlight fogging issue Now i am too waiting for the replacement part to arrive
About the rear view camera Try removing one sticker that is been sticked in the camera it make moisture to stay which cause the fog in the camera
I too have the squeaking sound from the rear suspension Like the old spring crying under tension will get it rectified when going for headlight replacement [;)]

Re: Life with the All New Hyundai Verna

Had a Talk with a Verna owner he took the delivery of car 4 months ago he seems to be happy with the car expect for the soft suspension and he hasn't faced any issue like Master cylinder failure, Rear sensor issue, squeaking sound , Headlight fogging etc

Seems like the brand new ones that rolls out the factory has been rectified with all those issue [surprise]

I am too facing headlight fog effect. But the thing is; by the time I plan to visit the ASS; the fog disappears. They need evidence for that I guess. Will try to claim in the second service.
And I am also facing getting the same noise you mentioned from the rear. Cant make it; if its from rear doors; or as you said seats.[frustration] Mostly when the car gets in motion; the noise comes.

I am too getting a FE of 13.5 in city. And MID shows 15/16. Yet to take the car for anactual highway trips with lots of kms to be covered in fifth and sixth gears.[:D]

Yes the only evidence they need is pictures. You could take your car to them when it has fogged, get them clicked and head back home. Orelse you could try clicking the pics yourself with a digi cam such that your number plate is visible.

Also about the noise, even after fixing it the service centre executive could not locate the source. So basically what they do is remove the rear seat, apply the adhesive material at the welding, test drive the car to hear for it and if it disappears they put the seat back in and give the car back to you. I know this cause when I went to give my car there was an i20 undergoing the process.

For those having Fog issue [cry]

Take your car to service center
park the car next to washing bay put turn the headlight to full beam and spray water
Now you see your headlight filled with Fog [anger]
