bad news [sad] they didn't give me claim for the windshield . just the bumper and the boot.

so dad got angry and asked me to immediately bring back the car. no point of getting claim when we don't get full claim.

a whole day wasted.

will get all the things fixed from outside now , the last resort

attaching the bill of "0 rupees"

mate it's not about zero depreciation , how can zero depreciation would have helped me.

it only makes difference after the claim.

in normal we have to pay some amount for the claim but in zero depreciation we don't need to pay any amount but this is after we get a claim.

you can't get claim for each and everything at once. like you dented your door and you think let's wait for another dent then we'll go for insurance, no it doesn't work like that. we have to notify the insurance company withing 72 hours.

also what's this chirping sound that's coming from the air blower {santro's having a C.N.G kit} [confused] [anger] it's irritating.

you can make out the sound , in between the video when i turn off the blower and immediately turn it on and then off again. observe the noise.

how can i get rid of it.

How zero depreciation would have helped you?
Simple it is,the same way it helped me..[;)]
It would have covered all and everything and you would have paid just the file charges.I think it would have saved a lot at the end of the day.

you are not understanding.

i have to justify all the things. i mean windshield cracked and the rear bumper + boot were damaged as well.

so the adviser said you cannot take claims of both the things but only one because this happened in 2 accidents and not one

if that happened in one accident which is very unlikely then i'd get the full claim.

only after getting the claim , the zero depreciation will make a difference.

the rear bumper is for 1500 rupees + 3500 for painting [lol] seriously [:D]
so i'm assuming the front bumper will cost around the same.

you want to get it fixed under insurance ? they won't give you claim just because you cannot justify if the bumpers broke in one accident.

i asked a local mechanic , he said he'll change the bumper for 600-800 for a original 2nd hand bumper and will charge 1500 rupees for the paint.

if you get the insurance you will be charged 2500 rupees + claim amount ie 500 rupees.

if you get it done from outside , you should be charged around 2200 rupees.

i'll get it fixed with a local mechanic just because i didn't get the claim.

company guys told me an expense of 8000 overall, including both bumpers and complete dent removal..so i think that's economical for me..

that's great. but the same thing can be done at 4000 rupees from outside [:D] no worries. i will prefer company over local mechanics for paint.

last night , sat in my santro and there was so much smell in the car , i thought it's the CNG so i turned off the CNG and used it in petrol. this morning , just now , was going to tht CNG guy but i thought it's not the CNG but petrol leakage and i was right.

opened the bonet and saw petrol leaking , went to a local mechanic , changed the pipe.

total cost - 50 rupees.

For that blower sound, its a leaf stuck next to the blower fan fins, when ever it rotates it rubs against the fins and causes this noise !

The leaf would have come inside through the fresh air went or rats would have bought it inside the blower.

thanks for telling me varun [:)]

i think i'll go to the service center for getting the car serviced tomorrow. will ask the adviser to look into it.

9000 kilometers completed : 25/3/2012 - 5/7/2012

so 90 kilometers \ day average commute in my santro [:D]

company said you can run 10000 kilometers but since i use the car with CNG , so at 9000 or even less so that i don't have any problems.

ignition coil

the 4th number spark plug cord became short once again. it needed to be changed. and then saw it the new cord was producing sparks and needed to be changed immediately. so did that.

whats a dhoti!![lol]
you'd be happy to know in the verna you won't be needing to change the whole coil for just one plug, but on the more shocking side theres 4 coils and each cost 1500-2000 bucks for the verna

Like we have microfibre for paint surfaces , dhoti is used for dirty purposes [:D]

It is just a normal peice of cloth which you can easily get from a paint and hardware store for 10 & 20 rupees.

And it gets dirty like anything and is also used a lot by furniture and paint guys.

And even i asked the adviser if it's one then change that one only then he showed me the part which obviously had 4 coils.

I guess its just the age of the car and it will demand all the replacements.

Rates have been revised. The adviser said that the part is for 4000 , then he went to check the rate which was 1200. I even asked a mechanic outside the showroom he said get it from the center only and outside also the part was for 1200. And yeah the car was looking good :)
