just came back getting the shocker mount's exchanged. there was some rattling. the service guy said it's the mount , the local mechanic said it's the mount but still after changing rattle is present [sad]
Honda civic is cheaper to maintain then hyundai i10.

Go on praising i10 and other hyundai carts.

My good wishes to you always.

really [surprise] amazing.
and i agree even my 2001 santro was great. we covered 1lakh kilometers without any problem [:)]

and accent , i love the suspension of the car. literally i was shocked when i sat in my cousin's accent. too good i agree. and still it's available so it's something [;)]

and congrats on your new i20. which model do you have ? and i agree the features which hyundai is offering in i20 , no company can.
I aalso agree with you, santro is amazing car.I like santro more than eon which also I've driven.santro has a very smooth engine.but nowadays my santro is not In much use.going to change clutch plate, exhaust muffler assembly, and some more small bits.
Btw I dont believe that Honda civic is cheaper to maintain than i10.In a test by autocar India, the cost of civics spares was horrible

but santro's engine nowhere near i10's [;)] and i10's engine no where swift's petrol.

swift really has a good engine better 1.2 than hyundai. clutch work should cost around 4000.

i don't want a car to live 50 years. you yourself posted a sheet comparing all the parts cost. jazz had the highest , it was costlier then polo diesel.

Cost of spare parts and cost of ownership of a particular vehicle both are different things.

Honda cars are cheaper to maintain then hyundai not because of spare parts but because of they dont need spare replacement as early as hyundai needs.

I Dont think this is normal better change that rusted area
btw,I am planning to fit an LPG in my 2007 santro, advice is much needed.
I Have a few doubts-1.How much will LPG affect performance? 2.What will be decrease in fe? 3.Will there be smell of gas inside car?[sad]. 3.Will engine overheat? 4.What are the types of kits available in the market.
Sorry for posting this here :please: I Am unable to understand how to create a new thread [confused].Other advice will also be appreciated.

about the disks, do you face any issues while braking?
if you do find issues which points out to the discs then you can give it for machining, else change them.
