Hyundai i20 Crossover Might Launch in April 2015, ix25 will arrive in the second half of 2015.

Hyundai Indiahad a successful 2014, and, obviously, hopes to keep that momentum going in 2015 with the launch of a few all-new products and facelifts. The first product to be rolled out by the Korean carmaker in India will bethe updated Vernain mid-February. It will be followed by the launch of two all-new products - the i20 Cross and the ix25 compact SUV - here. While the i20 Cross is expected to be launched in April, the ix25 will arrive in the second half of 2015.

Talking about the i20 Cross, it is based on the new-gen i20 and gets additional plastic body cladding, new bumper, grille, roof rails and skid guards. The crossover version of the hatch will also get an increased ground clearance along with a new set of alloy wheels. All the aforementioned updates help the crossover look quite different from the hatchback model. That said, both the vehicles might share engine options and features.

The crossover's cabin too will go through significant updates, giving it a sportier appeal than the hatchback. Expected to cost about Rs. 50,000 - 80,000 more than the hatchback, the i20 Cross will take on the likes of Fiat Avventura, Toyota Etios Cross, VW Cross Polo and the upcoming SX4 S-Cross.

HMIL’s first compact SUV to launch in the festive season period of 2015.
The Hyundai ix25 compact SUV was snapped testing in the city of Chennai, where Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) operates its manufacturing facility, by a reader of MotorVikatan. As reported earlier, the ix25 is due for a launch in India this year, and recent reports indicate that the company plans on introducing it in the festive season (October-November period).

New Hyundai small SUV to rival Renault Duster


New Hyundai SUV is expected to share the 1.6-litre engines and transmissions with the Verna. August 2015 launch
Recently spotted testing in the country, the GS will come with 1.6-litre petrol and 1.6-litre diesel engine options – both shared with the Verna. It will also get both the same manual and automatic transmission options.

Hyundai will be targeting the Renault Duster and the yet-to-be-launched Suzuki S-Cross with GS and according to company sources, a sales target of around 4,000 units a month has been set. To achieve such high numbers, the GS will have to be competitively priced and a range of Rs. 11-15 lakh (ex-showroom) across variants can be expected.

If they are able to deliver those features at the expected price then expect i20 like booking numbers.with the success of hyundai i20 one can say that indian buyers are now willing to pay a little more for a car that can give them a feel good factor.

even the potential buyers of scorpio and xuv5OO will consider this car.just hope they a lower varient in diesel with 1.4 engine for those buyers who want an alternative to renault duster 85ps rxe trim.

All in all,kudos to hyundai for giving indian car buyers what they deserve and not ripping them off

There seem no plan yet with the 1.4 diesel mill. Also there will not be an AWD option at launch, could come at a later date!

It is going to be a 1.6 mill, for both petrol & diesel, same as Verna. AWD not on cards for the launch, but definitely on for later.

Hyundai has been extensively testing their first compact SUV for India.

it seems a bit lengthier than ECOSPORT IMO, may be its the long hood that gives the impression. However its got a better stance than ECOSPORT that's my opinion. and seeing the pic i feel it has more room too.

Hyundai ix25 Will Get Diesel Auto, No Petrol Auto

The Hyundai ix25 will be available in petrol and diesel engine options carried over from the Verna and is likely to get a new nameplate for India.

Hyundai will certainly get a head-start with the diesel automatic option complimenting the urban appeal and loaded tech wizardry that will be seen on the ix25. The compact SUV is expected to get few tweaks to the exteriors while the nameplate is also said to be different for the Indian model. Earlier this week, Hyundai confirmed that the ix25 will be limited to developing markets like Indian and China, and won’t be offered in developed markets including Europe and Australia.

Hyundai ix25 Petrol Model Imported For Testing In India

The Hyundai ix25 compact SUV will be launched in India later this year and now the company has imported a petrol model for testing purposes.

The ix25 compact SUV will be offered in both petrol and diesel models. While Hyundai imported a diesel model earlier for testing, the company has now brought down a petrol variant for R&D purposes.
This particular model of the ix25 comes with a 1.4-litre petrol engine. So it seems that Hyundai India will launch the ix25 with four engine options just like the Verna 4S – 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre petrol and diesel units. While the diesel engines will also get an option of an automatic transmission, the petrol models will have to make do with only a manual transmission. Hyundai will most likely offer the same 4-speed gearbox that is also offered with the Verna. A diesel automatic variant will do wonders because it will provide a blend of convenience and economy.

Hey guys, Since couldn't go to the plant due to terms and policies by Hyundai , I thought of catching up with the members for lunch. So went to the plant at around 10:45 am and was waiting. Just while I waa dazing out up there saw a camouflaged Hyundai iX 25 going out for testing and as luck would've got it I took out my phone and clicked a pic of it. After that I was caught by the security and was chased away from there and was waiting in the side .

Hyundai ix25 To Be Priced Between Rs. 10 – 16 Lakhs

Looking at the Hyundai pricing modal, the Hyundai ix25 is likely to be priced between Rs. 10 – 16 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai) when it is launched this year.

The compact SUV segment in India has been really popular due to the poor road conditions and the fact that these cars offer higher seating position making them easier to drive for most. Many brands have already launched cars in this segment and many are soon entering the market. The Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano have been selling well in the market due to the plush ride quality and lack of competition. But this is set to change with the launch of the Hyundai ix25 which is scheduled to be launched in the next 4-6 months.
The pricing of the Hyundai ix25 will be a key factor for its success in the price-sensitive Indian market. Considering the i20 Active is priced at a premium of over a lakh above the similar Elite i20, we expect the ix25 to be priced over a lakh above the Verna with which it shares the engines and plenty of other components. It will sit higher up in the company’s portfolio and prices of certain variants would be more than its chief competitor, the Renault Duster.

The price difference between the Verna and ix25 will be there in order to avoid cannibalisation. If the difference is any lesser, Verna sales will be hit because Indians do favour SUVish stance and would plonk a bit more money and go for the ix25. Considering the ix25 isn’t a sub 4-metre car, Hyundai wouldn’t be able to benefit from the lower excise duty and will have to price it higher. What remains to be seen is how the market accepts the car with its higher pricing but additional features.
