Although Iam new to this clan, and a new excent(petrol) base model owner. Its been a month i got this car and really happy with it until today i noticed that before i switch off the ignition of the car I push off the ac button and pressed the inlet button and turned off the car.
THE problem :
1) Then when i switch on the car and rotate the blower tab the ac automatically switches on and button to outlet air is already on?
2) when my ac is off and i rotate the blower to point 3 the ac automatically switches on?

@ everyone - is there any solution to the excess brake bite in grand ? especially on the first 5-6 brakes in morning etc the brakes hit you hard and can lead to someone rearending you. really dislike that the car has no feedback from the pedal as pressing a little engages more than half the brake and to get more you gotta press a lot. no linear progression. I'm sure in any other country this would have led to a recall as majority of grand owners suffer from it as i talked to a few during my first service.

Also the lack of a fuel avg. in mid really bothers , my 1000km grand gives only 13.8 mileage. Do those Bluetooth OBD sensors that sync with your phone show real time mileage ? planning to get one as they cost like 800 rs only if they have this feature.

Fuel average in MID, is only Indicative and not Actual. I don't think Those BT OBD, will show you the real time Mileage. Real/Actual Mileage depends on lots of factors, like, gear shift pattern, driving habits, Effective use of Brakes, rolling Friction, engine braking, quality of Fuel, use of clutch plates, Load on vehicle, air pressure in tyres, etc.
My Xcent give around 15 in city, and up to 18-19 on Highways,

Yes I think they will show average and instant FE. It depends on the app you will use on your mobile phone. Torque is a good app and I think it shows all these readings. But as swadesh said, it is just an estimate and will not be totally accurate as doesn't take into count many major factors.

Yes i know actual mileage depends on many factors but the Real time FE is a good useful feature that swift has. Can help You improve your driving style to extract max mileage etc. by telling at what speeds etc. how much fuel is being burnt. BTW any idea how they will calculate the FE readings ?

Accelerator input. You coast downhill with NIL accelerator input and the car will show max FE. You bury the accelerator, for 3 seconds say, and the FE will drop to a single digit. That is why I find it useless.

Drive in a way you think the engine is relaxed, keep the revs under 2k and you will see good results.

i have noticed that the rear suspension is bit too stiff for comfort. it this only with my car or is this common in xcent.

also i didnt notice such stiffness in grand i10. so is the stiffness in xcent due to the boot attached?

i have taken the car to HASS for this problem, they said the tightened the joints which should have been done during the 1st servicing, but somehow was not done in my case.but i am still facing the excess stiffness.

Early bites at morning is usual in case of rear braking.
This is due to the friction gradually generating in rear brakes from cold temperature levels.

Yes it seems its only the rear brake that grabs. Today was very foggy with lotta condensation on car . the brakes grabbed the hardest today. Hopefully this problem will clear up after 20-30 days when weather gets warmer.

Hey Guys,

This is continuation from the discussion happening on Furious_Rider's ownership thread.Last night I checked auto lock, closed all doors, left the car unlocked. Auto Lock worked! after 15 seconds, the cabin light dimmed and all doors auto locked.

Alarm Siren issue:
Left a window opened, locked the doors with remote. Unlocked drivers door from the window and opened the door, repeated the same for the other front seat door. No Alarm!! I heard from others that the alarm goes on when the doors or manually opened or opened with key. It used to work the same in my santro. but not working with Xcent.

My question is, does xcent has alarm, if so, when does it make noice? if not, what should i get installed to get lock unlock sound and door alarm..

thanks in advance

AFAIK, Even if you lock using key, opening from inside will never trigger alarm. I do this a lot!! Better you read the owner's manual to see if it exists. Else get it done from outside.

Strange ! I tried this in my Xcent, and it was working. I got out/locked my car, while my wife was still inside. when she opened her door, it triggered the Alarm !
