Re: My Hyundai Grand i10 Asta (O) Petrol Ownership Review

It says within 2 months or 1200-1500 Kms... As I wrote I want to get some of the scratches repaired as soon as possible.Shall I take it now or wait upto 2 months?
if it were me i'd give the car at the end. get the work done on the first service. how deep are the scratches that you want to repair asap.

your scratches are deeper than mine. i was quoted 6000 rupees for the scratch. [sleep] and 800 rupees from a local guy. but since the car was new i didn't want to get it painted so left it like this.

i wonder how much service center guys will quote you.

Re: My Hyundai Grand i10 Asta (O) Petrol. 1000Kms & Banged (Details on Page 5)

Hi,

Has anyone fitted a single DIN head Unit in their Grand i10? I went to couple of places in banglore but all of them refused to fix it as it will leave scratch marks on that beige dashboard panel while removing it. They were unable to find a way to take out the panel without leaving any visible marks.

Thanks
Finally I got my i10 grand magna petrol fitted with music system. But yes could't avoid the small scratch near the left bottom corner. checked with showroom and outside, everyone showed me the similar scratch due to surface type of beige dashboard panel which is too scratch friendly even with fingernail.

My simple set up:
Single DIN Head Unit : pioneer mvh-x169ui(usb player only No CD)
Only front door speakers : JBL GT6 S366 3 way speakers

6000 Rs [confused] and what about those line shaped dents. How will they fix them. Will the expenditure increase?

By the way I saw yours. There was no dent only deep scratch caused by some sharp object .

i hit a santro's bumper and completely ignored the left side causing the scratch.
exactly , i didn't have any dent and they quoted me 6000 rupees. they have to cover a larger portion to match the color.

buy waxpol rubbing compound and remove the color , it'll look better.

check this and see the results.

Thats incredible[clap] . You seem to be filling diesel in place of petrol [:D]. Just post the figures once it is about to touch second quarter mark. Are you driving 100% on highways if not then plz do share your wonder techniques [:)]

Mine has gone upto 2.5 quarters and I have run only 315 kilometers.

I also run run without AC only most of the time (say 85%). What I see parth, your engine might have run in perfectly and giving you very good mileage. But I have never heard of someone getting more than 15 in city. As we discussed earlier fuel indicator drastically come down after the first mark so wait till it reaches second. But even then what you are getting is very good mileage as I could only run 155 Kms till first mark was crossed.

what is the actual mileage after first service? Mine is 13 km/ltr after first service. prior to service it was 12.5 km/ltr. so not much improvement [sad]

That was precisely I wanted to point it out. Generally when the tank is full, the indicator takes time to move to next level. But after that it goes down like anything. I face this both in petrol as well as in Auto LPG.

Parth, Pls give your feedback whether we are right or wrong after some time.

Not much improvement is expected after first service as in this case there is no major maintenance or fluidchange etc. its just an inspection.

I agree to it,have already noticed it.The indicator did not even move a bit for @90 Kms. for later 110 KMs it has covered one quarter in may case.

Guys GRAND's tank is 43L so how dow e interpret these segments on fuel indicator.
Like equal quarters of 43 or 10L each + additional 3 litres on last lines. If it is the later case perhaps thats why indicator takes much time in case of tankful.

Re: My Hyundai Grand i10 Asta (O) Petrol Ownership Review

I think I just found the answer [:)]
A forum says its a gauge not meter. If you go by this statement Its like a floating type gauge and needle movement depends on the level of petrol inside the tank. Now if the shape of the tank is not uniform, movement of the needle will also be non uniform. If the tank shape is 'V' then needle will initially move slowly and subsequently will move faster and faster (As surface area of the upper section is higher so for the same volume the change in height will be less). There is no way of telling exact amount of fuel drain by the engine untill we know the fuel tank geometry. So guys you just have to check it by tank full to tank full which will average out all the variations. No part by part FE is valid I feel [:D]

Thats a good explanation, but these gauges are calibrated to discplay right? and hence they should be accurate atleast 90% (by all my senses[confused])
