and sx and sx(o) verna models comes with smart keys just like grand's but no one reported any issue related to battery discharge.

i wonder why only grand faces this issue. verna also have similar keys but no problems reported regarding battery. i also hope problem is in specific lots and hope they correct it soon.

I think it is because verna has a higher spec battery with more Amps. So even though these system using battery,it may take longer duration for the battery drain.it is just my guess.

I am a silent reader on this forum but I must say this is one of the most active forum on entire website. Kudos to you guys :)

Finally I am also a proud owner of Grand i10 Sportz version. Have clocked 225 kms in last 4 days and will update forum about my FE. My first impression of the car – Good city handling (in bumper to bumper traffic of Mumbai), Lack power on highway (but something one can live with if driving on highway is less than 30% of total drive). Thanks to blindly follow Google map, I was unfortunate to drive 6 kms on typical kaccha road near Titwala- noticed good ground clearance and good handling there and faced no problem in driving in night


As it’s a new car and still in demand I was able to get mats, Teflon and anti rust from the dealer. Now looking to get

Steering cover
Scratch guards for corner (16 pcs or so?) – My wife would be driving this car :)
Car cover
Seat cover
Mud flap
Wax polish
Cleaning cloth
Mobile charger
Neck pillow
Air freshener
Hand free bluetooth

Am I missing something? Also any idea on any good accessories shop in Mumbai where I can get decent stuff. Also any particular brand of accessories I may opt for ?

Scratch guards for corner (16 pcs or so?) – My wife would be driving this car :)
Not sure if this really worth getting this done.

Mud flap - With stock mud flaps dirt gets easily on front side but back there is no problem. Let me if you find anything good here.

Wax polish, Cleaning cloth - Before buying any detailing products read the form for experts comments. There are many good products and many fake ones. You may get disappointed with the end result unless a proper instructions are followed.

Mobile charger - The built in USB port must play music and charge your phone.

Not sure this has something to with the size of the battery. Our old Santro developed battery draining issue and when checked it turned out the Alternator (charges the batter when the vehicle is moving) was faulty.

Other thing that needs to be noticed here is not all the cars are facing battery draining issue. May be its a good idea to get the Alternator checked whether its charging the battery or not. Not an expert here, past experience shared.

Guys, Hell with Fuel Efficiency and pickup, I am sick and tired with Hyderabad's traffic, bikers bruising my white beauty, Autowalas tailgating me and ruining my bumper its really frustrating. In less than a month I have 2 scars on my bumper, 1 one the side door (as posted earlier) and one dent on the right side door ( A biker leaned over my car).

Now I urge you people to suggest something to protect the car from these morons. Can you think of bumper guards which do not pose hinderance to the reverse parking sensors and look nice as well. I am seriously thinking of putting one.

No buddy, all your suggestions are welcome.
The thing is , till today I was thinking its just part and parcel of city driving but today with no mistake of mine, while I was moving slowly , even did not apply brakes, one biker came from nowhere and banged me on bumper and the left side of the bumper got scratched heavily. How much can you save yourself even if you follow all rules and tricks

Sorry about that, but unfortunately however careful we are some lowlife will come and scratch/dent us. I get upset even when my car is old as I feel why should I pay when some other beggar was at fault.

All we can do is just accept it.

I wish to talk to one of those car owners who drive their cars furiously in city trafic (leve alone bikers they even bother about other cars) where the hell they get all this confidance from? are they not bothered about their rides?

So as I understand this time also you are left with no compensation .
Just an idea -if possible from next time atleast start taking pictures of these morons and tell them that you are goin to launch a complaint(don't fight).

They know that their 5 years old 30k bike isnt really worth that gives them confidence. Autowalas are anyhow least bothered about their vehicle's health as they want to overload it as much as possible for earning more. These car owners you are talking about either are driving someone else's car( as a driver) or driving an already scratched old 'going to be phased out' model. I have seen people like me who are driving a new car take care thoroughly. I keep maximum distance from bus/trucks but these bikers are real culprits. In process of sneaking through narrow gaps they are scratching my white beauty
I will ask the service people if they can suggest some protection for bumper.

Its going to be first car in my family. I am from a typical Indian middle class family that is always cost concerned and on the top of it a Gujju so very calculative in cost comparisons

But I am confused between two versions- Magna and Sports.

The difference in money terms is around 45000 bucks on road.

Major differences- Music System, 4 speakers, reverse parking assist, Push Button Start/stop, cool glow box.

I checked with some accessories dealers outside and they have confirmed that I can get Sony Music System with Bluetooth, with LCD display (can watch movies too), JBL speakers, RPS with Camera and LCD display can be done in just 21000 bucks.

I am not very enthusiastic for Push Button Start/Stop and cool glow box can be given up as well.

I need your guidance as to should I go for Magna and add up these accessories from outside or should I spend additional 45K and go for Sports.

Hi chirag,welcome to TAI

In addition you will also not get
1) Side rubber mouldings
2) Roof Rails
3) Rear parking sensors
4) Outer chrome handles
5) Chrome/metal finish on inside handles and Knobs
6) Turn indicators on outside mirrors.
7) Autofoldable mirrors (pls confirm)

These may not be decision changer features.
I agree that for that difference you will get a much better ICE aftermarket,however please check the post by our fellow member autowiz who has expressed concerns while fitting aftermarket ICE in GRAND.

I was also in similar dilemma for like a month or so. After so much of calculations, discussions and suggestions I found out that either one should go for Magna or Asta(o). If you select magna you save good amount of money while going for asta(o) brings you total peace of mind and satisfaction as it comes with safety features. Buying sportz can only bring you few features that are really not that useful and as partha said you can get better parking sensor and music system from the market.

Sportz is purely aesthetic and lack following basic and needful features which should have been there:
1. Driver seat height adjust.
2. Rear Wiper and defogger.

magna comes with 4 power windows ( never seen in mid variant of maruti) and central locking. Engine performance, AC and space remains same. What else one needs if he/she can save a lot of money. On road price difference is around 50 k here in hyderabad. Make a choice. Good luck

If you get the aftermarket Music System fitted by 3rd party vender you be voiding the warranty. Get it done with hyundai.
