re: My Hyundai Grand i10 Petrol Ownership Review

Post Sale charges refer to delivery charges and i paid 7k here in Bangalore for the same. Its not something they should charge but has become a norm across all dealers and brands.
Insurance can be done at a lesser price than this. I got it from ICICI Lombard .They had 2 options 13k for normal insurance and 16k for zero depreciation. I took the latter.

Hi..

I got my Asta(O) at 6.84L here in Bangalore. RTO charges around 87k [frustration] but booking amount i gave was merely 5k .
Just for Information It is Available for 5.91 on Road in Faridabad with Road tax being only 21K, 16K for Insurance, 5K as Handling Charges & 5.49 For the car itself.[glasses]

re: My Hyundai Grand i10 Petrol Ownership Review

Thats more than decent, Infact very good FE
Ya it is good indeed considering following facts: [:)]
1. I am new to city driving and mostly using lower gears to be on the safer side.
2. Car is still in its break-In period so I can hope it to increase further.
3. Old i10 users have always slammed Kappa 2 engine for bad FE.

Note: I have used AC only on 20% of total time and I am following gear shift indicator most of the time.

I feel this new petrol engine is more refined as it has variable valve timing on both inlet and outlet valves which means it breathes better as compare to older one.

There is downside of it though which I would like to point out...
Once you are using AC engine power drops significantly. In bumper to bumper traffic if you are on a slope with AC on, it takes quite a bit effort to get your car rolling if it's stalled. I could not get my car moving for like 30 seconds and engine stalled multiple times. It simply refused to move. [anger] May be coz of AC and I am yet to refine my driving. [confused]

Hi Friends,
Software updation was done yesterday. It was just a less than 5 min affair. Now I will have to wait and see whether the problem of battery getting drained has been solved. I will try to post an update in a weeks time.
Meanwhile , I guess, I am getting a mileage of around 12-13 with 60% City traffic and AC on.
Regards,

re: My Hyundai Grand i10 Petrol Ownership Review

after reading all 24 pages it's been interesting journey so far

with parth being proactive in his opnions ("IMO is the catch phrase" i noticed it in every next reply, no offense to you buddy)

also vipin has been constant with queries and response -- great show

lawyer sir has sounded really concerned with software upgrades for battery issues and insurance issues and mileage issues.

well latter for every wannabe grand owner

and yes the 4 owners who got taste of ever moronish indian traffic

guys and yes this is to four owners ( i can only remember parthy and vipin for now)

I test drove grande and ritz back to back and that to in moronish delhi traffic during close to peak hours.

I actually drove grande, ritz and swift in same order and found more clear visibility with ritz out of most of three (again no offense but this was my brother's observation as well)

Thanx for generous words buddy and welcome to the thread. [:)] We know we had been on this hunt like you for like 3-4 months and were searching for genuine user reviews all over. TAI provides you great platform.

I totally agree that Ritz has best overall visibility and had it not been GRAND i would have gone for Ritz without a second thought. I was once confused between Honda Brio and Ritz but then Brio's maarginal boot space, weak low end torque and full glass hatch somehow pushed me away. Ritz is most practical hatch and has a golden heart under hood. But once I saw grand and test drove it, it was difficult to look anywhere else. Following were the key points for my selection:

1. Fulfills all my space related needs. Even, 7 years down the line.
2. Engine is refined and fuel efficient.
3. It makes you happy as soon as you step in.
4. Outstanding and distinguished looks.
5. Segment first features.
6. Its fresh while all other cars are going to be revamped.

Buzz word is that new ritz is going to get launched. I never liked Swift as its as common as a taxy on the roads.

"Fulfills all my space related needs. Even, 7 years down the line"

i read between the lines [;)]

engine is definitely refined better than maruti i would say here

fuel efficient then counterpart can't comment

yes it does make you happy gives you a good feel meaning interiors are best between the three quoted above no doubts on that for sure

yes good refreshing looks i have never liked swift with its new round protuding rear design

how would you know that it's a november make from the vin number ?

any help with grande vin decoding will be superb. sales guy informed me magna petrol available in grey colour for now so i want to make sure it's nov 13

If its 12th character is L or under the seat if *L is written before vin its November make. You can search on google related to hyundai VIN decoding. You get the answer.

My FE for first 200 KMs comes to be 13.5 KMPL. 50% in bumper to bumper traffic ( 2nd gear always) and 50% in moderate (mostly 3rd occasionally 4th gear) traffic conditions.

I feel its decent only. Your views.
That's a good F.E for 1.2 litre Petrol Hatch.[clap]

Well thats and interesting observation - "IMO" [evil], I tend to say so because I am myself not an expert with a huge driving experiance with multiple rides and hence not being judgmental.

I somehow feel that experts and senior members from TAI have not found this thread interesting enough to comment and help new GRAND owners.[cry] (Except sethumurugan )
Strange isn't it??

Anyways, Ritz is also my favourite over Swift- I liked spot on driving position and visibiliy due to its toll boy design. Wife didn't even consider it due to the rear shape and poor interiors.
GRAND offers a very good overall package for the price so we chose GRAND. I still miss a few things though, even on the top end -
1) No 60:40 split seats
2) No adjustable front head rest
3) Auto door locks??
4) ABS badging missing?
5) DRLS (Hyundai can offer it on sportz I20 then why not ASTA GRAND?[frustration])

@threeace777 our accidents happened not because of our poor visibilty but because the people behind us are a55holes who don't take due care.

(sorry for the strong language, but getting your car crashed into due to somebody else being careless is not fun).
