And after discussion with my dad, I asked him to take a TD of petrol vehicle He was too happy by its performance, feature and I booked it exactly on 7th day of my booking, got a cal from dealer that my car has arrived, asked him to give me a PDI before registration, all went fine it went for registration, Anti rust coating was done.

Dad wanted the car to be vinyl floored (1800k) and Zero Dep insured (15k), so he did the same and

I got my new car Grand i10 Asta (6.35lkh)
Rohi,
Congrats on the Grand i10. The pic looks nice. Do start your own ownership thread.

My Grand Asta(o) has also this problem of battery getting drained. The Service guys thouroughly checked the vehicle and said the leak is from the "cluster". I am not very informed on this thing.Maybe it is something connected with the display or meter console. They are waiting for a software update from Hyundai to rectify this problem. This is what was explained to me by the Customer Service Manager. I will keep you informed about this in the coming days.

As per popular opinion around me ICICI Lombard is the best one free from all hassles. I did not have much idea about it so dealer gave me HDFC ergo, that also is decent only.
My advice is ask your dealer to give you ICICI Lombard and get a quote from company beforehand. And yes go for zero depreciation as its a new car.
Thanks I will go for ICICI Lombard[:D]

I have ICICI Lambard only.

But before going to any insurance pls check the service center/dealer with which insurance company they have tie-up. This will really help you when you are in need. If they have tie-up with insurance company then it will easy for your claims and cash-less services. Otherwise, you might need to spend from your pocket and then claim it.

Just my suggestion based on the situation I witnessed in service centers.
Thanks for your suggestion. Will certainly consider ICICI Lombard

re: My Hyundai Grand i10 Petrol Ownership Review

I dont know how to say it but I feel brand new grand users are not so lucky with their new beauties? First Parth, then Anshul and finally its me. That too mine has just crossed 130 Km.
Today While coming from the office, I had to take left turn from the main office Gate which faces the busy traffic road. As road was very crowded and there wasnt place for me to get in , I started inching bit by bit so that I could make a slot for me. I had my full attension on the vehicles coming from the right side and totally forgot the left side. As soon as I could see a little space in between two cars for myself I raced away and BOOOOOOOOOOM [cry]
My heart was in my mouth. I had totally missed an auto and a scooter rider on my left side and bruised my self heavily on them ( Why the hell they had parked on the edge of gate). [frustration]
I parked the vehicle on the side , switched on the hazard lights and immediately went to scooter rider as I had seen him fell slightly. I apologized from both of them and they were OK after that. Autowala told me to check the car as his rear has hit my car. I saw but couldnt find anything. I said sorry again and came back home. After parking my grand I noticed that left door had two black lines just above the black side beadings and there was a minor dent on the door. Also at the the end of the beading there was a deep round scratch of about 2 mm diameter. I could see paint coming off and metal part exposed.

I felt so bad as I was so delighted with the looks of my first car.

Now my queries to you people are:

1) How to fix these two line dents? can they be fixed at the time of first servicing or they are generally ignored?

2) Can that 2 mm deep scratch be repainted without much spending?

I would not have complained had it been a year or so but seeing your first car bruised that too within a month of purchase squeezes your heart like nothing. [cry]

During my first service I enquired about this battery discharge problem, The SA told me that every i10 grand coming in is being checked for the problem and if present fixed. But didn't reveal the details of the issue but said upgrade in sensor solves it. After service he said mine didn't need any upgrade.

The problems that i had was that of the AC blowing at my legs even if set in the face only mode. They have fixed it to some extend but still little cool air is coming out from the leg vent.

Other thing i got fixed was a slight noise coming from the right shockup area when car goes over some of the peculiar uneven bumps. According to SA It was due to some steering column dust plate rubbing against metal.

Guys,

Read in another forum that people who are complaining about battery drainage issue are getting a software upgraded.there is some issue with the instrument cluster and related software which is drawing more current from the battery.could you enquire about that software upgrade?

I had this problem first when i left the vehicle undriven for a week . I was away in Delhi and when I came back I found the battery had drained almost fully because I couldnt even open the door. I initially thought there was a problem with the key (I couldnt visualise my new battery getting drained in 1 week).Roadside Assistance was called up and they said the problem is with the battery. They jumpstarted the vehicle.
After about 15 days I had this problem again. I didnt drive the vehicle for about 3 days and had to call up the RA guys once more. This time there was just the drop of voltage only because I could operate everything else inside, just that the vehicle wont start. I took the vehicle to the Service center and they did a thourough check and concluded that the problem is with the "Cluster" and needed an update from Hyundai ,which they said would come in 2 or 3 days.
Since First Service was due in 3 weeks time , I told them that i will have it updated during service.
10 more days went by without any hitch and yesterday this problem cropped up again. I didnt use the vehicle for 3 days but did start the engine(as advised by the Service Guys) everyday. Yesterday I couldnt start ,again RA people came and jumpstarted it.
I contacted the Customer Care Manager and he said that Hyundai is aware of this problem and are working on it . He offered to fit in a new battery for the timebeing and said I can expect a solution within the next week.
Hope this helps.

Guys,

Please read my previous post and do tell that when should we claim insurance and when shall we get the repair work done by ourselves. How does claiming insurance affect your premiums and future claims.

It all depends how much the total work costs. If this is your first car then you probably do not have any NCB to worry about. Get an estimate then we can work from there. If you do claim then your premium will go up next year.

Post a few pics, so we can see whats happened.
