This is my accident from before. The HASS just got the bumper in stock last week, don't know why it took so long. Buy my problem is I had to change the bumper and the REFF (no idea what that is), I told them I want the old bumper, they said okay and they said they will give me the REFF as well, they did not, as I don't know what it is, I am not too bothered.

Now is the interesting part, just before I pay the bill the guys comes to me and says if I don't want a receipt he will give me a discount. I said okay and instead of Rs5800 he only charged me RS4800.

Now what I want to know is did I make a mistake, could he have cheated me somehow.

I only agreed as he was only replacing a bumper.

BTW he did not manage to reinstall the rear sensors he says I have to go back next week for that.

Buddy IMO that is power brake behaviour and there is a caution in the user manual.
Do you park your car facing downward on slope?
and why would you remove handbrake before turning on the engine?
Did you try the brakes with power on in "ACC"" position without turning on the engine?

What is Hyundai insurance? I bought from dealer and its AEGON RELIGARE.
Yes I have to park my car facing downward on slope. This was the first time I removed handbrake before starting the engine as I was used to my father's WagonR, so i thought it should work here as well. On hills of UTTRAKHAND just to save fuel many time while heading downwards we used to switch off ignition for like more than 20-30 kilometers and drive totally in neutral. So I feel its time to kick out old bad habit. [roll]
I have not tried in ACC position though, will check again?
Please do post your new findings with grand ASPA. I am scared to think that if I were at my home town and would have tried the same on a downhill road , I would have panicked and forget the handbrake altogether. [shock]

The bumper replacement and painting cost seems OK to me. How he can give you discount I am clueless.
By the way did you claim insurance for that?

Well donno how he managed to give you 1000rs discount in @6000rs but IMO
4800Rs for bumper replacement and painting is just fair(+1).
So you are in no loss, hows your car now? do you feel any changes in your driving style after the incident? I was nervous for quite a lot of days. [embarass]

re: My Hyundai Grand i10 Petrol Ownership Review

I am due for my first service next month. Meanwhile I have come to know that the Hyundai service center of the dealer from which I purchased my car is not that good as compared to the Hyundai service center owned by other dealer. So my query is, is it good to chose different dealers for service and purchase? I mean I know it can be done but does it affect the quality of the service provided by the service center if you dont buy from them and just getting is serviced there.

Yes I am nervous too, and I hate people coming to close too me.

The price is fair, but as he did not give me a receipt could he have fitted a second hard repaired one. Only prob is he did not manage to fit the rear sensors back so I have togo back and let him have the car for another day.

Its not much they have to do in first service. Just check fluid levels etc. even no oil change so even your deler cant do much wrong in that.
Meanwhile if you are planning to do something extra like undebody, accessories etc. start doing it from the other dealer so that you become his customer,[;)]

A good advice indeed [clap] Ya I was thinking of going for under body and I think this should encourage him for serving better.
What about wax/teflon polishing parth? Have heard disadvantages of teflon but wax seems to be praised by many.

Me too planning only wax. if you have time you can buy a kit and do it periodically on your own. There is a separate thread on TAI for this.

I am looking to finalize the product kit.

Partha,vipin,Chester

Could you please guide me as to which insurance I should buy. How Abt bharti axa?

I am going for zero dep.
As per popular opinion around me ICICI Lombard is the best one free from all hassles. I did not have much idea about it so dealer gave me HDFC ergo, that also is decent only.
My advice is ask your dealer to give you ICICI Lombard and get a quote from company beforehand. And yes go for zero depreciation as its a new car.

I have ICICI Lambard only.

But before going to any insurance pls check the service center/dealer with which insurance company they have tie-up. This will really help you when you are in need. If they have tie-up with insurance company then it will easy for your claims and cash-less services. Otherwise, you might need to spend from your pocket and then claim it.

Just my suggestion based on the situation I witnessed in service centers.

I totally agree to take insurance from dealer only but in my case different insurance could be arranged from the same dealer. Which I saw the fellow customers going for.

Hey Vipin as rightly said by sethu if you are planning to go to same dealer its better to select as per his preference if difference in cost is not too much. In my case deler provided IFFCO-TOKIO,however during my last accident repairs there was no hassle.
The dealership took care of everything.
