Is the temperature knob set to cool (blue, not red) and the air flow set to the first option (inside circulation of air instead of outside air)?

Yes, the temperature knob is on the blue (cool) side fully to the left, the coolest setting. That was the first thing in checked. I have even tried moving it left and right just to check if the issue is with the knob.

The AC is in the inner circulation mode since the beginning and I haven't changed anything.

Hi,
Try clearing AC filter, below the dash on passenger side. I had issues with airflow reducing over time and cleaning the filter helped a lot. User Manual has steps to remove and clean it.

A small help people, anybody over here using free flow exhaust in their grand i10. I am thinking of getting one as low end torque sometimes feel less.
If yes please comment is there any increase in Low end torque or any other advantage.

i have complained to hass multiple timed regarding the ac's cooling.

while taking delivery of my car after 2nd service the ac even on level 1 felt too chilly. i thought the technicians might have done something due to my complaint.

but soon after a week, the cooling was all gone. now even if i ride solo i have to set blower to level 3 & drive. I had an ac techician sent home to check the ac issue. all he did was to insert a thermometer inside the ac vent and check the reading. he informed me ac is working as expected & left.

Since past week, the ac cool air seems to be leaking from the ABC pedals side even though my ac is always on the vent only mode. any solution to this or do i have to take it up with HASS

Please check the position of airflow knob. It shouldn't be in the position indicated by the arrow.

Hi Rselva,

the airflow knob is on the first setting itself, then too the air is blowed from the vents as well as near the legs of only the driver. there is no airflow on the leg side of passenger seat.

Guys,

My boot is locked and the soft rubbery touch key to open it has somehow been pushed inside say by 2 or 3 cms. There is no response from the remote either. I suspect some foul play when someone must have tried to forcibly open the boot. Somebody in my building may have tried to force it open while I was away for a while last month or when it remains parked near my office.

Has anyone faced this? Looks like i need to take it to HASS. Will they have to replace the part? I have extended warranty.

Taking my Grand (Petrol) for its second service on coming Monday. Have a few things to get sorted -


1. 'TAK' sound from clutch.


2. A little thud noise from rear left suspension on rough patches.


3. Heavy steering wheel (Changed tyres from 165/65/R14 to 185/65/R14). Not very happy with the added weight on tight parking space and city driving conditions, though steering feels planted on high speed. Read somewhere that service center folks can do some belt adjustments to make it lighter/heavier? Experts - Please comment.


4. Tyre rotation and alignment.


5. Intermittent 'Hissing' noise from engine. Has anyone faced it? Any solution?


6. Steering vibrations when the engine fan is on.


7. Engine Oil - I'm thinking to get my own synthetic oil and get it changed at HASS. Spoke with the SA and they don't have any issue with it. Experts - Which grade/temperature range/type etc..? Please advise.

The drls sure look good and you got a good deal from ebay as well. I have fixed the same kind of drls on my car as well and I have also connected the white wire to the parking light which dims the drls to 50% when the parking light is turned on. My mechanic also connected one wire to the fuse box however the drls turn off immediately when i turn off the ignition. There is no delay whatsoever. I would suggest you take the car back to your mechanic and have him check it.

Engine Oil Change Alert !!!!!

Recently I had a big surprise/shock after my 4th service of my Grand i10 ASTA 1.2. If you are like me and takes care of your car, then I recommend you to go through the below post.

The shock was I noticed a huge different in the performing after 4th service which I did not notice after (2nd and 3rd service).
The pick is really good, engine feels much smoother and increase in the mileage.

I was not happy with the performance of the car after the 2nd and 3rd services. Both these times I took the car to Hyundai service center and just like everyone would do I got my servicing done.

I could notice the change in the performance of the car after the first oil change in terms of vibration, engine noise level, pickup. I still remember when the car was brand new there was no vibration or noise from engine and sometimes during my early days of owning this car it was hard to tell whether the engine was turned ON or OFF.

But this time during my 4th service I did some research before taking the car to the service center. It turns out that the quality of engine oil that we use in the engine makes a huge different in how your car behaves. It could be engine smoothness/pickup/engine noise/vibration/mileage.

I referred to the Hyundai website for the recommended engine oil for Grand i10 petrol is synthetic Rating (5W-30) > https://customercare.hyundai.co.in/subindex_EngineOilPetrol-23.aspx but the oil that the service center guys are using is not synthetic!

Fully Synthetic oil - Mobil (5W-30) is expensive and normal Mineral oil (5W-30) is not. For 4L Fully Synthetic oil costs around 4.5K online and on shops it costs 5 to 6K.
The normal Mineral oil (Rating 5W-30 non-synthetic) costs 1.3K for 4L and online its even cheaper.

Since I had very little knowledge about engine oils as a testing I decided to go with normal Mineral oil thinking the shell Mineral oil should be much better than the what they fill in service center.
Spoke to the Hyundai service center guy and he was cool about me brining the engine oil, he told to bring only the recommend oil for Grand i10.
Brought the Mineral oil form shell petrol bunk and made sure the oil was changed in front of me. It’s been a week now after service and there is a huge difference in performance of my car.

I can feel the difference in pickup/smoothness of the engine/vibration level is reduced and I feel happy driving the car again. I have yet to check with the mileage (full tank to full tank)

I am thinking for going to fully synthetic after crossing 25,000KM and getting the engine fleshed. This time I am sure the performance will be even better.
I would highly recommend everyone to try it out. Also I highly recommend everyone to read about oil grades and advantage of using Synthetic/ Mineral oil.

I have bought a used I10 grand Asta Crdi,80000 km on odo,nov 2013 purchase,I have a polo 1.2 tdi,but i am finding I10 to be very uncomfortable ,stuttering at low rpms ,anything below 1100RPM car gives up completely,so much vibration,i have to press clutch again and again.Is it normal?

i10 does not have a torquey engine, so Some revs are required to maintain the momentum! I believe you brought a petrol, so you shouldn't drive it like that (Diesel style)
Min RPM i'll say in i10 is 2K rpm.

Is the idle RPM normal? How is the performance after 1100 RPM? When was the last service done?

Hi thanks for addressing me,normal idling is at around 1000 and its smooth,no problem,when i go over a bumper,if i am in third gear and when i break,the car starts to vibrate and lugging,after few dhak dhaks i have to press clutch and change gear to 2nd then i get going.I bought this car reading that it got excellent drivability,i just serviced recently,changed oil,filter etc.
