Has anyone faced this problem?

I bought my grand i10 asta with keyless entry[;)] on 21st April 2015. The battery of the key (remote) has been exhausted few days back. I changed the battery of the remote and it also went of in 3 days. I have given the remote for replacement under warranty. Can anybody tell me, how long the battery should last?

Hi Nitin,
You are right once you switch off Master Switch security features are diabled. It was an old post. Subsequently I have left my car idle for 15 days without switching off master switch and guess what it started with a single touch. No issue whatsoever. I think the issue is with the first 3 batches i.e. sept to nov13 of grand i10 only.
Okay, thanks for the clarification. Just one thing, mine is Aug 2015 Asta (O) variant and I can't find the anti theft alarm in my car. Read somewhere that 2015 models don't come with the alarm system!! Is this true? If yes, then I guess this is super lame on Hyundai to skip such a useful feature..

As bhvm suggested, it does last for good six months at least..

Since feb 2015 there were changes in all variants. Major ones in sportz, where it got 1gb audio memory, rear defogger, steering controls amongts the major additions. But minus push to start feature while keeping the price same as beforr sportz variants & at thr same time making asta the only variant having push to start button. Also anti theft from all variants was removed.

Just don't understand the strategy opted by Hyundai.. Guess some 'not-so-smart' guy took over consumer car segment at Hyundai and implemented their brilliant idea of removing security feature from the car.. [surprise]

The funny part is, their latest manual still describes anti theft alarm and how to activate/deactivate it.. Recommendation - please avoid reading it if you have recently bought Grand i10[:)]

Hey, just got my car serviced (1st free service - had engine oil replaced) at Mayapuri Samara Hyundai, New Delhi and got it confirmed that the battery drain issue has been rectified ever since it was noticed in early batches of 2013 [clap]. Not sure about charges in case you would ever need to use any of their on road assistance services.

Have you given any thought to get extended warranty for your car?

Yes, with the fuse-off condition. I was rather surprised.

Yes, they will surely charge and so will the road side guys. I need to get the extended warranty. How much were you charged and for how many years and how many kilometres?

Few days back, a tailgating innova rammed into my 8 month old Gi10 & sped away. Since that guy sped away & the incident happened on the highway, we couldn't stop the car to check the damages or speak with the Innova driver.

The damage doesnt look much from outside but once the rear seats are folded down i can see layers of rear bumper pushed inside.

The body shop head at HASS quoted 25k for rear bumper and boot which i will be claiming from insurance + i need to pay for labour and painting charges.

I am a bit worried about the painting process whether or not the newly painted panels would match with the cars color. Also what checks should i do before taking the taking car back from SC?

If its HASS, they would be able to match the colours as much as possible. I had done my bumper repairs earlier this year along with a door repair, and very recently another repair on fender....they did a very good job. If you see some major mismatch in colours, ensure to have them do a repaint or touch up depending on the mismatch, at their cost. They also try to paint the entire section to ensure the color matches - decide how best you want them to do. You should also have them touchup/wax/apply compound on other areas of the car where paint spray might have made the surface rough - I faced this issue on both my repair work, they did correct this on their own.

the service advisor said to go for repainting of 'front bumper' before claiming insurance for the rear boot & rear bumper since the front bumper has some scratches on the passenger side.

Should I go for front bumper repaint aswell ? i am confused since only a small patch of it is scraped then why go for entire bumper repaint. body shop head said future claims will be denied as front bumper was already damaged earlier.

Could you provide some pictures of the scratches and damages? Even my front bumper has scratches on the sides, however it does not make sense of repainting the entire bumper. In terms of future claims being denied, i'm not sure how much of it is true. I think they are trying to make as much as money possible on this repainting job which is not really required. It is true that in future, claims are processed only on the recent damages and not on old ones. In any case, you have to incur your own expenses on repainting the front bumper once it gets more damaged, however, depending on the extent of the scratches currently present, it can be skipped for now.
