I am also facing similar issue. Sometimes it locks, sometimes it doesn't.
Anyone else facing issue with this feature?

[thinking] I hope you are not making the mistake of keeping the smart key in your pocket, while checking the lock.

In addition to the above, if we lock all the doors and get out, do we still need to press the lock button in the key ?

Is the rear view mirror a day / night one ? How to adjust it ?

What tyre pressure one has to maintain as the manual recommends 33 psi for normal load and 36 for max load ?

Can the boot be opened by pressing the boot unlock button in the key ( without pressing the unlock key button as I need to open the boot without unlocking the car / doors ) ?

Can someone explain as how to operate wiper buttons in Asta as I am not able to figure out ?

There is no indicator for low beam ( does parking light and low beam has the same indicator symbol in MID )

Can the car be locked if any of the windows opened ? How to ensure that the car is locked ?

Can I electronically close the left hand mirror alone as we do for both mirrors during lock ?

Thanks

Hi Kbase,
Answers to your questions

1) Mirror, pull towards you for night and push towards the windshield for day
2) I keep standard pressure as 33, depends on how may people travel frequently.
3) You can unlock only the boot by
a) pressing the boot unlock button on the remote
b) by pressing the button on the boot door with the key in your pocket. Only the boot will be unlocked.
4) Wiper operating is the left stalk on the steering wheel, push up will only swipe the wipers once, push down once is low, once more is medium and all the way down in high. Pull the stalk towards you is water and one swipe of the wiper.
5) Parking and headlight have same indicator on the MID. No special indicator for low beam.
6) Car does lock even if any of the window is open (some members have reported that their car does not lock with window open, mine does unfortunately). to check if doors are locked, just pull the door lever without pressing the small black button (Key less request) on the drivers and passenger side.
7) You cannot keep only one mirror open, either both open or both close.

Thanks
Arijit

Hi Kbase,

Most of the answers are given by Arijit, i would like to add one more point for ensuring that car is locked.
Keep the setting of cabin light to "Door" mode and lock the car. Now within seconds the cabin light should turn OFF. If cabin light stays ON then do check your doors and boot lid.

Thanks Arjit and Grand Rk for the detailed explanation. With regard to wiper, I cannot figure out which is off position . So when I move up and bring down to off, it comes to low. How to figure the off position as there is no pointer mark like in the head light ?

I can drive only in 2nd, 3rd and first in the traffic, mostly in the 2nd. Will it affect the vehicle in the initial run in period ?

There is "OFF" printed on stalker itself, the normal position or rest position of left stalker is "OFF"... this is similar to shifting in neutral. I would suggest you to sit along with user manual in car and try the options then you will come to know about it.

Driving in 2nd gear with speed less than 30KMpH will not harm engine. If you are novice than just keep eye on gear shift indicator and see the speed when it prompts to change it in 3rd.

There is an OFF in the wiper but the pointer to that OFF is not clear. I will use it with the user manual to understand the operation.

If I drive in 2 and 3, will the fuel efficiency be affected ?

Can someone help me to decode the latest VIN format as it contains 17 characters for Grand ?

Apart from the insurance, smart card, service coupons ( present in the manual itself with the dealer seal in it ), Do i need to get any other documents from the dealer like extended warranty as I opted it and so on.

Thanks

2nd gear has more power than 3rd and for generating power fuel is used, thus lower gears use more fuel affecting your FE.

Hyundai's VIN is always 19 characters, you can get complete VIN which is stamped on the rim present under drivers seat.

Smart Card gets delivered directly to your residential address, you just need to get the receipt of registration from dealer. If you have opted extended warranty then ask dealer for its certificate, they just need to print and handover it to you.

Light at boot is malfunctioning. Sometime it goes on, sometime remains off at the time of opening the boot. Anyone facing similar issue?

How much does it cost for extended warranty?

2nd gear has more power than 3rd and for generating power fuel is used, thus lower gears use more fuel affecting your FE.
So, if the RPM is around 1 - 1.5, and I am in 3rd gear, it slowly increases speed - is this good for fuel efficiency? Or would it better to downshift and keep rpm at 2. Which is more suitable? I often have to switch between 2nd and 3rd gear frequently during slow traffic - is it better to: 1) downshift and keep revving between 1.8 and 2.3 rpm (the car does not feel smooth) (does this mean since more power is being used fuel is also used more) or 2) upshift to 3rd gear, rpm is between 1 and 1.8 - takes time to increase speed (does this mean more power is being used and more fuel?)
