Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

Nick did you get your suspension bolts tightened. I got them tightened in AUG. I used to get a metallic sound (as if something has broken or fell apart) before that. The road conditions in hills is worse in various patches(full of potholes). After that till now I have not faced any problems except once or twice. They tighten the bolts with a torque wrench(if I remember it correctly it is 160nm).
hi,
your verna looks like bmw.... what did you do with front headlight?

Neil , Nick is right. Nothing has been done to headlights. Its the angle at which picture is taken. I will tell you guys a funny incident. It happened when I was planning to buy a new car. I went to a lot of showrooms and checked almost every car in this bracket. I finally went to Hyundai showroom and saw this car. I was in love with this car at first sight. May be the sales guy caught this and started marketing and this is what he said -- "Sir you will not believe, hyundai has designed this car by researching the eye catching nooks and corners of world's best twenty cars. Finally they came out with a design of ANHV". I know this was just a marketing technique. But you guys will agree, the design of this car is just fab.Thumbs up to Hyundai. Five months have passed , I still cant stop admiring the design and beauty of this car.

a new faint squeaking noise has crept in, it starts after 2/3 speed bumps or potholes on the first drive of the day and then it stays.
Can you tell me your driving ways
Nick Just try this , may be this will help you saving a little fuel.I know its not easy to change your driving style but believe me I could manage it in 3-4 days time.
-Turn the eco mode driving on - it will suggest you the appropriate gears. Try to synchronise your gear changing with it.You will come to know about the ideal RPM's for best fuel mileage.
-Use light foot on the gas pedal. Dont keep it continuously pressed. In third/fourth / fifth gear you can press/ release the gas pedal . Just like light pumping of gas pedal.Keep your speedo display on Instant fuel mileage. The bar instantly reacts to the releasing of your gas pedal and shoots up the fuel economy.
-I never use high octane fuels or any additives. Just use normal petrol from a reliable outlet maybe a company owned.

Just give it a try. Happy and safe driving.[cheers]

Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

hey , how do u think of this - five spoke AMG type (black) alloys and a good genuine hyundai accessory (if possible, they launch it soon like for i10 and 120) rear spoiler and touchscreen DVD player with screens on rear-headrests. After-market projector headlamps (replacable). if possible [thumbsup]
KILLER is it ?

Five spoke Black alloys will look wonderful but not in favour of rear spoiler.Screen on headrests are good for us only in flights cos we are not on the pilot seat. Touch Screen DVD player is a big welcome.Additional features I would like to have in it will be GPS navigation, virtual disks, reverse camera support, and TPMS.

Well hyundai has no accessory range of ANHV. When will they come out with them. any news.

Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

i dnot think TPMS will be supported by our vernas im kinda illiterate on this but i guess we will need specific alloys as well as tyre for this.
well eco mode is on the only time fe shoots up is when i coast to a stop or speed breaker while in5th gear. My dad also drives it and gets the same fe. i just gradually press the gas not push it. speed 97 from a coco pump gave 15 kmpl. speed from a coco gave 12kmpl. regular from a reliance and bp coco gave 7-8. hp power from a pump where my other car tanks up and gives 10-11kmpl gave around 9kmpl(on pune expressway) i guess you get better fe as you have cold climates there and no ac use.

Any vehicle is capable of having TPMS. The normal air nozzle is replaced with this special air nozzle with a transmitter. The transmitter transmits the air pressure and tyre temperature to the sensor which helps in displaying the figures on the screen. Not special kind of alloys are required for this. Refer to this link of tyre probe :

TYREPROBE

What do you fill in your tyres air or nitrogen?????? Try nitrogen, it increases tyre life, keeps the tyre cool, gives better mileage and comfort.

heres a new pic f my baby
Those crome door handles and window strip looks fantastic. Looks a tight fit in the picture. How do they do it. Is it a super glue or screws.

Philips/Osram are far better than stock ones. I have philips diamond vision H4. Did not get time to replace the fog lamps. Now I get two different lights.Headlights are white and fog lamps are yellow[;)]

Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

its available at any good auto accessories store. super glue is used. And i do not use nitrogen used it in my previous car was a waste of money, finding nitrogen filling points was hard, we still had a puncture and my driver noticed it a bit later and the tyre was gone from the inside, we dint use that experience to rule out nitrogen but cost of repairing it and one tire bursting did it. Air is free, or rs5, Fixing punctures rs120, Nitrogen guys would take 250rs.

raman door handles come factory fit on the sxo the window chrome i got it after market for rs4500 its stuck with super glue, If it comes out (it may/may not) just use super glue your self, Ok Now i understood how tpms works and would be a treat to have it
besides me i have seen a purple, black and a white verna with the chrome window garnish and it seems to suit dark colors more then the white, imo it just looked there not uplifting the looks of the white, the white even had tailight chrome garnish i liked its looks but somehow me and neil prefer the normal tail lights

Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

Got home the Verna Fluidic 1.4 CRDi (Crystal White) today. I guess its the first 1.4 CRDi on this forum. I booked it without taking test-drive as I didnt had any other option in 8-8.5 lacs. That was my budget. Vento diesel's base model was TOO basic and boring looks from inside to outside, as compared to stunning Verna.

Things I liked about it:
-Stunning eye-catching design
-Nice interiors and excellent dashboard texture feel
-Slick gearshift, soft clutch
-Soft suspension, good for city. I currently own Laura Elegance TDI, same broken road never felt so smooth in it too. Though comparing both the cars is stupid.
-Best wheel cup design I ever seen on an Indian car. Looks quite stylish, no need for alloy wheels.
-Stylish interiors, nice airy ambient rear seat.
-Large boot really impressed me. Wasnt expecting that much space.
-Overall build quality is pretty good too (Interior, Exterior)
-Base model, doesn't look base. You get most of the things, excluding all the safety features.

Things I didnt liked:
-Steering feels dead. It turn car half a second later on highways.
-Engine sound not good when you rev up.
-Engine is quite timid in 1k-1.5k rpm, but is powerful after its crosses 2k rpm.

Overall its a very good car and I rate it 9/10 and 10/10 for VFM. I gifted this car to my dad :) They mostly drive in city and average speed is 40-50. So I ruled out beast 1.6 CRDi (It had 6-7 months waiting). Got this one in 2 months. 1.4 CRDi engine is globally fitted and quite successful in many cars. And I had strict budget of 8-8.5lacs. No other diesel car can satisfy you more than Verna in this range.
