Re: Hyundai Fluidic Verna Road Test Review

I'm taking my new Fluidic Verna SX(O) to the Hyundai workshop tomorrow... Few installations :
(1) Phillips Diamond Vision 5000 K (12V, 55/60 W H4).
(2) Phillips 6700 K Ultra cool Flash star LED lights ( A set for parking lights ).
(3) Phillips 4300 K !2 V, 55 W H11 Bulb set for fog lights.

Now, I hope Parking lights and fog lights fittings won't be needing a relay for the fitting...( the Philips dealer where I bought the stuff from told me its absolutely not required ) ....

Nice review of the Verna, mate. A great-looking car it sure is with powerful engines.

In the comparo chart, however, the Linea T-Jet fails to find a mention, especially since the recently launched SX4 diesel is already included.[surprise]

When we are being bombarded with details of the 10 variants of the Fluidic Verna with different engines and transmissions, one would expect that the 3rd and most powerful variant of the Linea would at least find a mention, especially when the T-Jet has the greatest torque, fastest in-gear acceleration, the fastest 0-60 kmph time and the highest top speed amongst all the C-segment petrol sedans. This is true of 99% of such charts floating around on the internet giving a selective picture to the viewer. Either don't include the Linea in the chart or mention all variants, especially when there are only 3.

Re: Hyundai Fluidic Verna Road Test Review

@Verna:Congrats on your new Verna.
Wish you miles of Safe and Happy Motoring.[:)]
How about a wee introduction of yourselves?

And regarding the horns, i don't think relay is required.
As relay(cut out) is required only for Upgradation of Stock lamps.
And you can easily get some Bosch horns or Roots horn.
Thanks dude !! And oops. Sorry for the late reply. Missed this post out :(
I got the new horn fitted. Its a Hella Black Trumpet( sounds nice and gives a thick rich sound compared to ROOTS)
Got Diamond Vision Bulbs fitted (5000K)
Got Philips LED 6700 K lights fitted for parking.

Now, I'm already tempted for an HID-upgrade. Lets see. [;)]

New Verna is a nice car but i wish to see a flat bonnet on it like Toyota Corolla or New Ford fiesta. I hate those lines on the hood. It looks similar to 120. A new car should completely a new car. I always prefer variety designs and outstanding looks on road.

From rear Verna gets good road presence (merc C class look) but front view is quiet disappointing, maybe due to it's similarity to i20.
True ! Verna would be better with a flat hood. And yeah, the rear does look sexy from outside !!! But,hey. honestly even with the sensors and the camera, I find it difficult to reverse and park my car [frustration].
I think its because i'm not used to it till now.
Will get used to it soon, I hope :)
Cheers !!! [thumbsup]

Re: Hyundai Fluidic Verna Road Test Review

I had a short drive in the Fluidic, and it was pretty good.
As already posted by many people,i would like to post my opinion as an addition to their opinion.

Likes=

1)Steering wheel(like Honda).
2)central console and the dash board
3)Reverse Camera and sensors
4)rear bumper with reflectors

Dislikes=

1)front end looks similar to new i10
2)Turning radius is slightly more than the initial model(myself and Dhaya has).
3)taillights have similar reverse and indicator segment like my Verna, but, tilted position.
4)Fog lamps.(new design,but,not powerful)
5)Ground Clearance. With 2 people(myself and sales advisor),the under surface of the car got in contact with a slight ridge of about 5 inches next to the showroom. We heard a huge scratchy noise. He said that it is usually heard because of some bla bla in the road, but,i have reversed my verna with kits from th same turning without any contact with the car.
6)Smoke emission slightly from the car.
7)Short rear windscreen/wind shield.
8)Alloy wheels could have been better.(they look like old Getz's wheel caps)
What is the stock HU and speakers and tweeters in the All New Hyundai Verna Fluidic ?
HU+4 speakers+2 tweeters. Give good enough sound(Mid and Treble is fine but Bass is manageable). Was thinking of an Upgrade since long but no idea of the stock ICE so don't know what will be the best kind of upgrade. Don't want to change the HU or add components. Just a Sub-woofer enclosure/tube with an Amp will be fine and will give the PUNCH i think !!
Have tried many possibilities starting from Clarion Sub/Amp(getting them is tough), Rockford Fosgate Sub/Amp(turning out to be quite expensive but good though[thumbsup]), JBL Sub/Amp, Blaupunkt Sub/Amp.

I am thinking of getting

(1)JBL GT5-1204BP
1100W 12"(300mm)
Band-Pass Subwoofer Box
(2)JBL GT5-S422
300W 2-Channel Power Amplifier

C'mon Audio Gurus. Help me out !!!

Brilliant Review. Did Hyundai provide the car for the test or did you do it during a normal TD?

The car was specially arranged on our own level for comprehensive drive. Akash deserves a pat on his back for review.

He sure deserves a pat. and the full team for taking the trouble to arrange a car for the test. Just goes to show the enthusiasm in the team.

Re: Hyundai Fluidic Verna Road Test Review

Hello Basil welcome to TAI , the fluidic Verna can be expected to give 12-13kmpl in city and 18-19kmpl in highway. Mileage depends a lot on the driving style and condition though.
