Hyundai EON (D-lite+) : Ownership Review

EON has completed 970 kms and is going for its 1st service on Sunday. Called the dealer today and took an appointment for Sunday morning.

So far we are getting 14-15 kml and this is pure city driving, 100%. Hopefully the FE will increase a little bit after the service.

One of my cousin has enquired about this car, we have a cousin who own this car, but rather than taking the feedback from him I felt to take it from you.

1. Is that FE with petrol or LPG
2. Is there a steering adjustment feature in your car model
3. How is the pick up when AC is on

Clocked 1000 kms yesterday.

And the seat covers that i received from the dealer as a freebie.

In that case it is fine Singhji, but you have to prove it with a close up pic of the door

As requested i am attaching the pic of the door, see how the bottom of the door is curved inside.

Sure Gurrala Sirji,
1. The acquired FE is on petrol.
2. No, it's not present in D-lite plus
3. The pickup drops a bit with AC on but you can still move the car from standstill in 1st gear with AC. But overtaking becomes bit lazy with AC in 1 and 2 gears.

It's only petrol, nobody in our family goes with any kind of gas LPG/CNG.

And you get tilt steering in Magna and Sportz model.

It is for my cousin sis, she is 5'10" and presently she own old Alto where she finds back pain, so she was looking at Eon, how do you rate Eon in that aspect

Nothing of that sort, no back pain experienced by me or my dad in these 1000 kms.

And infact the seats have become even more comfortable after the seat covers have been put on the seats.

So got the first service done today.

Nothing was replaced though, it includes only inspection and cleaning in the first service. So the total bill was 0 Rupees.

But they did wash and vacuum the car and gave a nice polish treat as well.

Overall the customer service was good and i got the car back at the promised time.

BAD news guys.

Some moron came and bumped into our EON and made a big dent and scratch. I felt like after seeing the damage.

My dad was taking a U Turn while going to his office and a thela (one which is fitted on the motorcycle thing) came from the wrong side and hit the car. My dad saw him from a far distance and looking at this driving style and since he was coming wrong side as well, my dad literally stopped the car thinking let this stupid pass first. Even then the guy came and banged into our car.

Oh !! Sad to see that Singhji, Even I had a similar incident some time back and a dent to the front door, but I left it just like that as it is not too big. This needs to be given in workshop for rectification

Yes it was a sad scene for me as well when i saw it. I am planning to get it fixed from outside and won't take the insurance. we have a mechanic to whom we have rented out 2 shops and a big shed right next to our house. So will call him and ask him how much will it cost?

I have recenty taken a Eon Dlite and I am desperately looking for wheel caps for my 12 inch tyres. I have searched almost all the showrooms and were unable to get the same as original wheel caps. I was happy to see the wheel caps which you have fitted to ur dlite car.

Sirji, please can you give me the details of the shop where you have purchased the wheel caps, so that I can contact them and get the wheel caps.

1. MILEAGE
2. BAD PICKUP when AC is turned on.
3. BAD SHOCKUBS
4. CHEAP BUILT QUALITY.

We have M800. so pickup might not be problem.
Big question is milage??

Well last tank fill gave us around 16 kmpl. 100% city driving with 100% AC. normally the mileage remains around this.

2. BAD PICKUP when AC is turned on.

Well this was our upgrade for M800 and honestly i have never felt any issue in pickup while AC on when compared to M800 and Alto 800 (personal opinion).

3. BAD SHOCKUBS

I didn't get what exactly you mean here, but let me try my best to answer your question. You do feel pot holes in this car as the suspension is on the stiffer side and the other culprit is the tire size. I am thinking to upgrade mine to a one size bigger and a fatter tire.

4. CHEAP BUILT QUALITY.

Well NO, it definitely is not cheaply built. And when it comes to the interiors i like the quality of our EON's dashboard better than our XUV.

Finally got our EON fixed. We didn't opted for the insurance hence didn't get it fixed from the dealer. We didn't even bother to take a quotation from the dealer.

So where did i get i fixed it from? Well we have rented 2 shops and a big shed to a mechanic so that's were we got her fixed. The guy is a real genius and has worked at TATA, Mahindra and Hyundai.

Well now let the pics speak. (See post # 69 for the damage)




Actually the dent was so bad and at such a weird place that the dent had to be removed from inside. So they had to cut the body from inside take out the dent and then weld it.
