I really wonder why this thread has not been closed as it promotes rash, reckless, fast and unsafe driving, just in the name of bragging rights.
I totally agree. I always wanted to say something but didn't want to be a spoil sport.
I would like to see this thread closed too!

It promotes rash driving? I don't think so, it just asks to share the top speeds achieved. I have recently, and for the first time, did a 140-145 on my Indigo on the Dhule Nashik 4 way and found it nice

That must have been a great experience! Road from Chennai to Coimbatore is awesome , around 470KMS i think and superb four lane well laid highway throughout! The only problem is the tolls which we have to pay.[evil]

So, its time for an update. Clocked 180 KMpH with my beast in a smoothly carved stretch: Chennai - Bangalore highway this weekend.
Average speed was 140 KMpH. Thanks to the butter smooth highway + ABS, EBD (If required)!!!
Oh that must have been a ride [clap]
I am sure people will have some apprehensions about those speeds. But I can imagine the feeling. I just came back from a heavenly trip to Tiger point in Lonavala and drove at 140 kmph, I can not describe the feeling. and yes pics are coming soon

Yes Dhaya. It was a great experience. The first trip from Coimbatore - Chennai was very slow considering the new vehicle. Now, i thought let my beast roar [:D].
BTW, I definitely hate the toll. I would say its VFM driving in that road. Hope you will agree with me!

Definitely buddy - Thanks!
Unfortunately, I did not take pictures at the top speed acheived. Got videos for constant cruise at 140 KMpH and 165 KmPH though!

Where I live, the max I can legally do is 90Kph.
But in my Dad's Skoda Superb Diesel a top of 188kph was achieved and the car could do waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than that.
but in my lancer, nothing more than 95kph.
I just don't feel safe doing speeds higher than that.

Ps. the 188kph was on a dead straight road and it was in the early hours of the day with ver minimal traffic.

Sure that you are aware of Indian road conditions and speed limits. I too clocked the max speed at a straight road. But, Lancer can go more than 95 KmPH right. But, don't try anything unless you are sure going more than that!

I agreed with you in regards to Superub. I have seen Skoda's going way beyond 188 KmPH.
