I did 165 on my 2003 Old Honda City 1.3 on Jaipur expressway which connects Gurgaon & New Delhi. This was done early morning 3 AM. The car feels sturdy and the needle could have moved a bit more if the heavy trailer had not had a breakdown in between of the road.
Though a old engine have done more than 1.2 lakhs Kms still have the punch.
WOW...Super!!! I did 160 in my OHC years ago...

Hi All,

I have done 150 on my Maruti, It is very tough to handle
I was hardly able to see any thing on the road.
This was done on Nice road B'lore.
That would have been absolutely scary. I cannot imagine driving an 800 at that much of speed in Indian conditions. I can understand how tough it would have been, since my car begins to shake terribly at maximum of 110 Kmph alone.

Drive Safe,

@ Varun Wow that's great , never knew M800 can do 150kmph in stock condition , must have been real scary!

@ Paigirish Yes high speed driving requires great skill and judgement while over-taking because reaction time is very very less!

Hi Cooldhaya,

Once it crossed 150 but by the time i could get an pic it went down, all this is because of the K&N air filter, Mico 4 pin spark plugs and the alloys....

Almost all cars that I have driven in India, I have never crossed 100 km/hr. For me it's 100 for Mumbai Pune expressway kind of road and on any highway 80-100 max.

IMHO, even if the car is capable of doing more, you never know what will come across you in India.

Very well said Amiti i always maintain it around 100kmph and at the max 120kmph , nothing more than that even if i have road ahead that is completely straight and free from traffic!

Our Indian cars are capable of much more speeds but we don't have enough braking capabilities and enough safety features on most of the Indian cars.

Yeah. With us the high speed runs mostly have been to touch some figure and come back to normal sedate driving at 80! Although I have seen X5s, Mercs, and all those fancies doing 160 without a fuss on Mumbai-Pune e-way!

Forget Bmw's and Merc's even with a Jetta and Laura you can cruise around 140-150kmph with ease , such is the stability of those cars at those speeds! And if at all you have to brake all of a sudden you have the all wheel disc brakes , ABS , ESP and TCS to guide you.

But this doesn't mean having a fancy car you can push the car to its limits , more than driving faster driving safer is more important!

I really wonder why this thread has not been closed as it promotes rash, reckless, fast and unsafe driving, just in the name of bragging rights.
