Hello TAI members,
I have bought BRIO car in Oct 2014. Yesterday I went to Honda workshop to fit Rear Panel Lining. WHich will protect car body when you put or take luggage from the luggage space. It's accessory price is Rs. 498/- but fitment charges is Rs 625/-. When I asked if you can give as accessory alone then he refuses to provide. He started to provide different story like it's market value is Rs 1600 but I am taking around Rs. 1200/- with service fitment charges. I feel cheated in the same. Do you have any other source to buy that part online. Because to put 4 screws, they are charging approx Rs 700. Please advice.

Thanks I am waiting for your reply.
Regards,

You are right, these items are found in bills but we have to trust the service guys that they have done the job properly. I believe item nos 1,3,6,7 are chargeable and hence i feel that the service charges 1500 for just washing the car and doing some basic checks and giving it back. I hardly felt any difference in the car when i got it back from servicing this time.
3) Wheel balancing, wheel alignment, weight balance
I am not sure this needs to be done at every service. Depends on the running I guess.

6) AC disinfecting - another thing they try to force on the customers these days. Unless you are getting a foul smell or something from the AC, plainly say no to this too.

Take your Brio manual at every service and ask the SA to do ONLY the things listed in the manual.

Happened with me this time at service, when a new SA was trying to act smart and force me to replace the air filter. I asked him where in the manual it says to replace the air filter at 5K and he started making excuses saying its either 20K or 2 years (my car hasn't even reached 2 years). I plainly told him to fetch the service manager to confirm this, and then he quickly changed colors and said he will merely clean it now.

The S.A will try to add many unnecessary things to inflate the bill so be careful.

For the original bolted wheel covers whitefield honda quoted around 8K [frustration]. He told that each bolt itself cost Rs 350.
Online I found set for Rs 650 but it is not bolted type.
Hi,
Thats true i was quoted INR 11,000/- for a set of 4 wheel covers with the bolt:eek:
I had told the accessory manager at the Honda showroom to prompt me when he finds a customer who wants to fit alloys to his car and sell his wheel covers, and finally i found one.
I purchased OE wheel covers for INR 4000 for all the four wheels with the original bolts.

Ohh that's cool..

I too want them for my EMT.

I have searched on Olx & Quikr a couple of times but no luck.

Will try talking to Accessory Manager once I go for servicing this time.

Hi CP,

Thanks for doing a search for me, Not sure if they are giving nets along with the wheel cap.
Last time I found someone from Kerela selling them but he wasn't giving nets moreover couriour charges would be on higher side as I say in Delhi.
Though I have mailed this person about it. Lets see if he can give screws along with wheel caps.

Thanks,
Naveen

Most welcome Naveen,
Try to find out the size of the nuts, if same size is available in aftermarket they will definitely retail cheap as compared to the exorbitant price quoted by Honda Dealers.
If you get a proper reply from OLX seller, buy the wheel covers from seller and nuts from the after market, that might help.

Running vehicle tend to face such situations. So chill and drive safe [:D]

As long as the scratch doesnt affect the performance of the car, nor lead to rusting, its economical and practical to leave it for a claim to be done at later stage.

Done with 2 years service, have done Only 4100 kms till date due to less usage. Total Amount paid is 3585rs. This amount included 703rs for motor care treatment which i opted and rejected rodent control treatment and AC neutralizer works, else total amount would be i think close to 4.7K .

If we exclude extra jobs , the servicing cost for minor service is only 2750rs approx. which i feel is decent.

@manish09: not seen for many days. [:)] I thought my Brio ran less (9000) in 2 year 6 months. For last service of my car I paid 2191.00. it was just plain service, no oil change, no wheel alignment etc.

Yaa, I was out of station for few months due to office work.

Without oil change the service cost should not be more than 1700rs. Did u opt for anything else during service.

Somehow I am feeling the steering has become slightly harder after the service, also pickup of car has reduced [frustration]

An update, the BRIO has come to it's own way by itself, don't know what could be the reason. Really enjoying the driving [:)].
