Anyone updated the horn for EMT/EXMT as they come with single horn?
I want to update the horn but read somewhere that we need to update the fuse too in fusebox, If we are just updating the horn it might blow up the fuse.
yup, my car's fuze blew up in the middle of a highway. I had posted about this in my brio review thread.

Hi Nitin,
Can you tell me which horn did you upgraded with and what will the proper way to changing it.
I got horn update in my alto some 4 years back & MASS guys made it dual horn which can be control by a knob. I was using low horn in resident colonies etc and loud horn at other places. I really liked that.
Another thing which I want to upgrade is head light but not sure if just changing the bulb will be right way to do it.

The stock one in Brio was 10amp and he suggested me to go for 20 amp since i was using 2 horns now instead of one and its been more than 2 years now, the fuse has never blown again.

issues i faced : hated the horn since day one, since i was embarking on a long journey , wanted better horns, i got them changed with bosch power horns ( pair instead of the single bhopu ones we have) , took extra care that the wires r not cut, after a hundred km's the horn stopped working. since it was highway had to stop at the local repairwallah. he took a look and told me the horn fuze had gone off and he did not have the fuze which these new cars come fitted with. I drove down to chandigarh without horns for the last leg of about 100kms.

next day went to the electrician in sec 21c market. The electrician was a novice, i told him to simply check the blown horn fuze and do nothing else, he asked me to open the bonnet and wanted to check the wiring, i shouted at him and told him to concentrate only in the fuze box. he tried to find the horn fuze but cud not. Took out a couple of fuzes and placed them back. Since he was going nowhere, he put the blame on me saying u want this and that and he will not fix my car. I was pissed to the core and decided to take the car to honda but to my surprise the car did not start. I feared the worse. New car , not even a week old and blah blah, new city and now i am in a mess. I called him back and asked him what else did he touch. he was adamant that he took out the fuze and placed them back in the same position. I said i want my car back in the same way it was. He called his superior. This guy seemed more knowledgeable and asked the earlier guy as to what he did. He started checking the fuzebox and started matching the fuzes with the stock picture on the fuze box cover. Line 3 did not have any fuze in the pic but the novice electrician had placed a fuze there. he simply placed it in the right point and bingo my car started. I told him to check the horn fuze and in seconds he took it out. As confirmed by the highway mechanic, it was the one that had issues.

The stock one was 10amp and he suggested me to go for 20 amp since i was using 2 horns now instead of one. His decision proved right and I came back to delhi without any issues.

Hi, I do have installed 12v socket for my Brio few months back after its manufacturer warranty expired and extended warranty kicks in. I am not sure how much it effects the warranty. The seller installed it by connecting its wire directly to the audio system wires. This same guy has installed my audio system too. I would have preferred a direct connection from fuse box but didn't had much say.
Hi,

I got the 12V socket installed today from a shop nearby. They connected it from the fuse box with some neat wiring using protective sleeves and connectors. The socket is Xenos make with a cap for added safety.Xenos STINGRAY Power Socket.Only thing they left a small scratch near to the socket, you can see in the image below.[cry]

Fellow members,

Just wanted to know as to what all is done in a car servicing if there is no oil change.
Sometimes i think the service centers just clean, wash and shine the car in the name of servicing and charge 1500 for it.

I get my bike serviced from a local garage in front of my eyes (without leaving it unattended) and it is a lot more satisfying + the charges are almost 50% lesser and you also avoid the hassles of picking up / dropping the vehicle to the service center.

Thinking of doing the same for my car once it completes 2 yrs (my usage is also pretty less). What are your opinions on this?

Hi,

If there is no oil change the major things HSS will do on a service are
1) Honda Diagnostic scanning (HDS)
2) Battery testing
3) Wheel balancing, wheel alignment, weight balance
4) Brake pads, caliper check, greasing, transmission oil change/top up
5) Replace filters, wash fluid etc
6) AC disinfecting
7) Resolving any other faults suggested by customer

I never got it serviced in front of my eyes, but checking all the old service invoices these are the common things found in every bill. Lets wait for experts to give some detailed information.

The panel surrounding the AC becomes warm after running. This is the case when the AC is switched-on. This does not look normal to me and I am going to raise this as an issue in the first service. Was this problem fixed by Honda for any of the other owners?

Is the number plate illumination light a standard accessory in Brio? Yesterday I found out there are 2 voids just above the rear number plate,
and I believe there were lights before and someone might have removed it.[cry]
Can anyone please confirm?

You are right, these items are found in bills but we have to trust the service guys that they have done the job properly. I believe item nos 1,3,6,7 are chargeable and hence i feel that the service centre charges 1500 for just washing the car and doing some basic checks and giving it back. I hardly felt any difference in the car when i got it back from servicing this time.

But I believe the 1500 (approx) includes the charges for items 1,3,6 and 7. It is not necessary that you will feel something different
after every service unless you did something like oil changes, clutch/brake settings etc.
