^^NKV : Isnt the recommended psi 29 for front and 26 for rear? As far as my S(O) MT is concerned, that is the rating mentioned.

Is it different for EMT? [surprise]

I maintain 30psi nitrogen for all tyres, FE of 14-16kmpl in City & 18+ on highways, 90% AC. The leakage is minimal with nitrogen and i get them checked once in 2 months / while going for long drives.

^^BAB: I double checked it today, Honda has recommended 26 psi in my EMT for both front and rare.
Here in NCR filling nitrogen is not very common it seems, I use fill it when I was in bangalore.
My daily run is around 65 kms, I get it checked & refill every week but strangely whenever I get it checked measurement varies from 20-30 psi. Don't know why so much leakage and variation. I have ordered a type pressure gauge just to check it myself :)

Can you pl. give the details of tyre pressure gauge because I also have this variation and doubt whether gauges at petrol stations are correct.

^^NH08: I read a lot of reviews of both digital and analog tyre pressure gauge & found that I need an analog one as that doesn't need battery change and often last long. Some guys even prefer them for their accuracy. However Digital ones are easy to read/operate & trendy too.
Digital one cost around 700-800 from a well known company like coido where are analog costs around 250-350. I have ordered
Bell - Tyre Air Pressure Gauge - Buy Car Accessories Accessories | Snapdeal.com
a week back & yet to receive it.

Hi, I'm looking to buy a Honda Brio and I am a little confused with regards to the variant. I really liked the S(MT) version, however it seems to be slightly above my stretched budget. EX MT however is within my reach. Things I will miss on EX (MT) and that I would like to have are

1. Rear Power Windows
2. Steering mounted controls

Please suggest if I can get the Rear Power windows fitted on EX (MT). Will there be any impact on the warranty.

I know a friend who has got steering mounted controls done for a music system he bought in the outside market. However EX MT comes with a single din music system. Will I get an option to install Steering mounted controls for the same.

Please advice.

Hi Gani,

Welcome to the family[:D]. I would suggest SMT as you would be getting Rear defogger, seat height adjuster (very useful) too. Aesthetic wise Chrome grill will be missing from inside also in Exmt you will be getting only front speakers. It can be ruled out if planning to upgrade.[roll]

Choice is yours and also you would be getting wheel covers as well.

You can fit any kind of thing in the car aftermarket but it involve heavy alteration to the existing electrical system, If work is not done properly then it can lead to any annoying thing. Plus you need to shell out almost 10K to 15K for those features which you want.

Addition to that if you go for higher model which have essential features required for you then that extra premium justify any-day as you buy car once in a while and you get peace of mind as those features come from factory.

So i recommends you go for S variant by starching your budget little more.

^^ Gani, welcome aboard. Wish you a wonderful time in here.

Regarding the options, as other members pointed out, go for at least SMT, as these features will come factory fitted and you will have peace of mind for the years of ownership.

Yes, it comes at a premium, but one doesn't buy a car on a regular basis. So, i would recommend the ones with Safety feature - Airbags & ABS (if you can really stretch out), if not, SMT option.

Base version is a compromise all owners deal with, risking warranty of car by adding after market fitments, risking our own & family / friend's lives for not going for Safety features.

OT, I really wish the new Government changes the Auto Industry rules, and makes Safety Features standard across all segments. Enough of fooling the Indian customers with products which doesn't meet International standards [anger].

In my 6 month old Brio, the AC is very ineffective. Leave alone hottest time of the day i.e. around noon, it is unable to cool properly even in morning say at around 8-9 am. Increasing the blower speed does not make much difference. Seems that there is some problem with the AC. Car's second service is due in next 10 days so will ask the service centre to look into this issue along with the checking of the proportioning valve.
Got the second service done on Saturday. AC was checked and they stated that cooling was low due to low levels of gas. It was filled up and there was some improvement in cooling. Yet to test it in hot weather as weather on the day of service was not that hot. But cooling was definitely improved.
