Even my Brio in Inclined position becomes lifeless sometimes , i am not experienced driver , i thought i was doing something wrong , even i think i should contact Honda Now , Vijeshk let me know what Honda has done
Hi Everyone. Thanks for the advice and all. First of all sorry for posting this late.
I reported the problem during the first service and they took it with some seriousness. The service personnel later told me that they connected the engine to a computer (which they say they can do) and wipe off some data and reloaded the file and made it okay. For which I was not able to say anything coz the guy gave me such a display of words. But that didnt corrected my issue. Again I contacted Honda and this time they told me that the Brio is having a hydraulic clutch and it happens so when the engine is at very low rpm. So all I have to do is just to accelerate a bit and a tap on clutch. This I felt is working (almost working, I am not 100% sure).

Isn't this called Revving hard !! This was suggested by the fellow brio-ians as a solution here when this problem was first put up. [sleep]

Check you manual as to how much RPM works for each gear.If your car has a tachometer you can upshift or downshift according to the RPM.Just remember to upshift before you reach the red zone on your tachometer or hear the engine screaming.

I am listing some figures from the Ertiga manual as an example:

Downshifting Km/h (mph)
2nd to 1st 35 (22)
3rd to 2nd 70 (43)
4th to 3rd 105 (65)
5th to 4th 140 (87)*

When climbing steep hills, the vehicle
may begin to slow down and show a lack
of power. If this happens, you should shift
to a lower gear so that the engine will
again be operating in its normal power
range. Shift rapidly to prevent the vehicle
from losing momentum.
• When driving down a hill, the engine
should be used for braking by shifting to
next lower gear.

Felt the gear shift are more smooth. Other than that I felt nothing. One bad thing I felt about brio is its lag while accelerate. Its still there. I did not want to compromise the decent mileage by tuning for power. So actually I didn't even mentioned it during the service.
This "tap the clutch" solution has almost worked for me to the problem of "car wont move in the steep slope even after the accelerator touched the body". But I'll have to check it again.

Thanks Honda for that.

thanks for the information , My 2nd to 1st Gear shift is becoming stiff and harder this days , may due to lot of city driving that i have been doing this days , Hope they can fix this in next service and is not some issue with gear box .

i to feel the Lag in higher gears, like if car is in 50 in 5th gear and i want to accelerate to over take it take some time .

My latest FE figures are 15.50kmpl in City Drive and 17.50kmpl in City and Highways (mix). I am yet to take long trips of more than 100km in a stretch .

i am getting the delivery of my brio this sunday
but someone told me abt a rear impact scenario and it has got me worried

what abt those metal rods that taxi walas put?
i guess it would destroy the balance of the brio

can i be assured abt its safety in a rear impact scenario?

obviously you can be rest assured. Relax. I suggest you go ahead with the delivery.

What taxiwala metal rods are you talking about ? Didnt get you here.

Honda insists that the rear frame is sufficiently stiffened from the safety point of view, and adds that the Brio has cleared Japanese crash tests (which are supposed to be more stringent than European standards, having said that it has cleared european standards too). Moreover, You get 100% free glass insurance.
Honda boasts its hi-tech multi-directional crash test facility in Japan, where Honda Brio goes through the most stringent crash tests. Undoubtedly, Honda is one of the safest auto manufacturers in the market. The all new G-Force Control Technology (G-CON) not only reduces impact energy during a collision but also enhances handling. ABS (Anti lock Brake System) stabilizes the vehicle while braking in order to have better control and avoid obstacles ahead whereas the EBD distributes the work force among all four wheels based on the load on each wheel.

Welcome to TAI rohan. There are many happy Brio owners. Join the list buddy.
Congrats on your delivery this sunday. Awaiting your ownership review with loads of snaps. I have a gut feel you have made the right choice now its all upto you how you enjoy this beauty.[:)]

Today is the bad day for me as i got lot of scratches on the left corner of front bumper in the morning while parking the car in office[frustration]. By looking at the scratches i can say they are not minor and requires painting.

Guys suggest me how to deal with this. I have heard service center guys always ask for full bumper painting and charge heavily also.

Sorry to hear that.
Forget service centre dude. Better go to 3m and get it done there. Scratch remover and 3m rubbing compound are the medicine for now
