I think the snap lock is sort of a like a crew which breaks when you try to remove the number plate such a way that it closes the hole that is made by the manufacturer to hold the number plate.

If the number plate breaks , you should go and inform the RTO.You think it like this way, what happens when your car's key is broken?
i know that but i just wanted to know the procedure , its common sense that one will go to the rto only :P

People rig so called tamper proof meters in auto's itself, this snap lock is a piece of cake for car thief's if you just take a look at the methods they use, come on !! These guys carry a ecu unit with them to get around the cars engine immobilizer.I have commented in #79 on this thread before about miscreants trying to remove my plates,so if we install this plate am sure breaking IND plates will become there fav pass time just like making graph markings on our cars. Some people get joy by damaging other peoples properties. But still this seems better than other weird numb plates used out there.
chances are thieves already have mastered changing this so called tamper proof number plates [:D]
What is the due date for getting these number plates for your vehicles? And Since I am a new bee here so can anyone help me on how to start a new thread? I want to buy some new alloys for my car.
i'm not sure if this applies to the whole country or not but in delhi the date is june 15 and it will carry on for 2 or 3 years.

I saw a TVS Apache RTR sporting the HSRP plate on its rear (didn't check the front) it has a white sticker kind of thing on the top left corner like a hologram, the numbers were embossed & kinda sticking out as well. Think it was UP registration vehicle, will check it out if I see it again

Thanks for the info. So only Delhi Registration numbers have to get these by June 15 or every car entering Delhi requires same? If yes, where can I get these from ASAP. what would be the approximate cost? [surprise]

delhi registered cars will start having these plates after 15th june. don't worry , you can change within 2 or 3 years.

the cost for car will be 334rs for both the plates and some 120-150rs for bike.

THanks. I guess I will have to wait until Haryana Government rules out something like that. Or else, will get one from the upcoming centres. I fancy it.

After HSRP is fitted in PVD premises, they hand over a note and ask the same to Submit to dealer. Does anyone know whether submission of it to dealer is essential to get the Smart Card?

Regards.

Not very sure, but I remember 5 months back I did not have to submit to dealer.

Smart card was courriered directly to my residence by the Motor Vehicles dept. and it is said that it will be done within a time of 2 months from fitting of the number plate.

Need Guidence abt HSRP

Hi guyz

I'm abt to buy Pulsar 150 [:)] the dealer says he will provide only normal plates (IND Plates). If you wants you have to get it done then do the HSRP outside. But i heard that new bikes will be provided with HSRP. I'm confused. [confused]

Plz guide me what is the procedure for HSRP? how much it cost in bangalore
?
