My Verna got its New number plates from Pondicherry RTO few days ago. The front plate is not yet installed (waiting for slight change in the front look),but the rear plate has been fixed. I got a small sticker stuck on a transparent plastic card, which has the vehicle number, chassis number, engine number and 2 seven digit code numbers for both the plates. Its price was 326 Rs ,and you have to wait for over 2 months or pay about 600 Rs and get it within a week,it includes the unofficial fixing charge of Rs 50.

These are the pics with the HSR plate. The final picture is displaying a small card stuck onto the inner surface of the front windshield, which has the details of the Car's number, chassis number, engine number, front and plates laser number and Transport Department, Government of Puducherry on it.

Thank you. They are so called bolts(revit,i dont know the spelling),it can be removed, but you need another bolt from inner side to hold it.
The ones in Goa were quite different. They were much bigger and had something embossed on them. They were more like seals.
