Re: Got Wet in the Rain of Fluidics!!!

So the other day gave my car a nice Sunsilk wash; followed by waxing(Formula1) and dashboard/fiber(MotoMax) polishing. And these are the results.[shock]

And the car continues to surprise us. This time the surprise is on a positive side. You can have a look at this and get surprised too.

MID is constantly showing fe between 18-21kmpl.[clap] Will get the confirmation only after tank fill. Although I am not crossing the rpm above 2k now a days I feel that the brick game of fuel bars are slower now.[lol]

Re: Got Wet in the Rain of Fluidics!!!

nick suggested to take the car till 4k-5k to burn all the excessive carbon deposit. you should do the same from time to time. loads and loads of carbon gets emitted from a diesel , way more than a petrol.

also please don't use sunsilk [cry] you should get a good shampoo. you can easily get between 100-300-500.

but i think the thing (shampoo) inside is the same :stupid: but still get one car shampoo.

and yeah the car looks great [thumbsup] was thinking of polishing the black plastic parts but had to go to the service center for my i10.

4k-5k this will reduce the fe bro. Nways will try to do so once Dad is not around.[evil]

Okey sir; as you say. Actually I have a bottle of Amway car shampoo lying inside the cupboard; but the thing is that the shampoo is very old; around 8-10years I guess. Later I came to know that my Dad too was a car freak like me but little lesser than me. I feat that might affect the paint. Will not even think of giving a try to test that.

And bro what about alloys? I was thinking to wax the alloys too.:stupid:

i think hair shampoo is more gentle the car shampoo so no issues using sunsilk once or twice a week. Only issue is using kerosene or diesel. 3m guy told me it doesnt harm the paint so much but removes the wax/ sealant and makes it look dull.

Okey Guruji as you say.[:D] Will keep in mind from now on. But Using kerosene to remove some tar spots is okey I guess.

Thats good to know silverjet. I dont trust any digital meters anymore. I have a Pulsar 180and its digital fuel guage is crazy. Fill 10ltrs then also it will show 1bar. After some time it will show proper readings.

Nways now regarding the FE update. Yesterday tankfilled the Verna and here are the results.

KMS: 403
Diesel: 28.5L
FE: 14.14kmpl
[frustration]
Never trust your MID.

Also called up to the SA regarding the headlights replacement last week. Actually have forgotten about them but thanks to these last one week's rain in Mumbai; I kept on harassing them. He told me that the part has arrived. Have taken tomorrow morning's appointment. Since the car has covered some 9400kms I was thinking to get the second service to be done tomorrow itself. Else I will have to visit them separately next week for the same that means a whole day to be wasted.

Re: Got Wet in the Rain of Fluidics!!!

So today got the second service done at Modi Hyundai Chunabhatti and changed both the headlights in warranty.[:D]

Kms: 9500

Engine oil: 5.5L 1222/-
Oil Filter: 370/-
VAT: 12.5% 199/-
Total: 1791/-

Things told to do:

  1. Replace Headlights under warranty: Done
  2. Kar kar noise in third gears when we leave the accelerator or in slow speed.
  3. Noise from rear right side when car goes over uneven/leveled surfaces.

They say that all the things they have taken care; but while returning I heared the same kind of noise from rear right side. Lets see that atleast the second point is corrected.

Also asked them about Diesel filter replacement; they told to do at 20k. Asked about Airfilter; they told to replace it at 20K too and they cleaned it in this service. Asked about wheel alignment and tyre rotation; they say no need of alignment unless you fell any difference. Any how I will be doing alignment and balancing and rotation at 10k from outside.[glasses]

Yeah that was surprising for us too. SA said that since the diesel filter is costly; it can be changed at 20K. Airfilter not changed is understandable but Diesel Filter!
Nways can you share how much the diesel filter costs? I am confused now. Dad told to leave it; since they were the one who told to do so.
Also our another member Topgun got his first done at the same center and he brought them the oil; and they charged him only for oilfilter. They didnt changed his car's Diesel Filter too.

Re: Got Wet in the Rain of Fluidics!!!

Update:

The headlights; which they say are changed are forming fog too.[anger] Didnt even washed the car after getting those lights. Really pissed off now. Also yesterday; the reverse camera and the reverse sensors stopped working.[frustration]

Called my SA today;(keeping in mind that Modi says they are open on 'Sundays' too) and told him regarding the headlight fogging. Now he says after changing the lights also if there is fog formation then it is normal. He says he was earlier in Honda and Honda car's headlight also have same feature. I was really pissed of and started to explain in that this is not normal. Then I told him also the reverse camera and sensors are not working. Then he was like today he has an off; and he told me to contact another SA. I told him forget it; enjoy your Sunday; i will come tomorrow and meet you.

Later in the noon dad told;"Why dont you check out the fuse idiot! How can both the things went kaput at the same time?" I checked the replaced that 10A fuse too but still its not working. Now in the evening while parking; Dad was assisting me and he noticed that the reverse lights are also not working.

Now I guess it might be some issue with the reverse switch if there is any.[roll]

Re: Got Wet in the Rain of Fluidics!!!

Update:

Today had gone to the service center to get the issue corrected. They removed the air filter unit, the battery, and they seems to be searching something. Aaaha they were checking out the reverse switch. It had gone kaput. SA told that the part is covered under warranty and will be changed but the part is not available.(as usual) They have placed the order to their head office and the part might arrived in a day. They fitted back the parts and gave me the car. Now the reverse switch stated working. Sometimes it works and sometimes not. The SA says not to worry, he will get the part change even if it continues to work.
