Re: Got Wet in the Rain of Fluidics!!!

Well I'm driving in Bangalore through as thick traffic as you can expect. When you tank up, the mileage starts to build up randomly. On my 2nd tank full, the mileage was jumping all over and settled down to 15+ km/l and then when I was almost dry it was showing me 13.9 km/l. But on filling up, the calculation was working out to 12.5 km/l. So only Hyundai can enlighten us on their fuel mileage algorithms.[confused]
Clarenceax , the electronic kmpl display works perfectly alright. It's just that when you fill up the fuel to full tank , the algorithm calculates the average on the few Kms you have driven. In the early part of the fill the fluctuations will always be high because the electronics have to calculate the average only on the few Kms driven. Try redline driving after a fresh full tank and it will display 8 to 9 kmpl. Similarly try sedate driving it will display 15 to 17kmpl in the initial Kms driven and will keep changing quickly as the computer has to calculate the average only on the few Kms driven. Try the same thing after having driven 400 Kms and the change in the average kmpl will be less dramatic and the change will be only between 1 to 2 km on an average since the onboard computer has to calculate the average over the entire 400 Kms to display the kmpl. Hence the chane is less dramatic.

In fact I have completed almost 7000 km on my crdi sx o auto and I find that the difference between the kmpl electronic display in the car and the average on full tank method is only 1kmpl. If the car shows 12.5kmpl the full tank method will be around 11.5 to 11.75 kmpl. And that too because we perhaps fill the tank till the fuel almost drops out. Maybe we are filling a couple of litres more than we should for the electronics to start its calculations.

Re: Got Wet in the Rain of Fluidics!!!

i only think the distance to empty relies on the fuel quantity in tank along with the fe logged in the previous tank. While the fe uses the amount of fuel injected into the engine along with the distance travelled. Even if you fill the tank by about 5litres there is variance . The dte may sometimes show a higher value and when that does it jumps down quickly also i feel 3 litres are in the filler pipe while the remaining 40 are in the tank.
if i fill till auto cut of only 36l goes in.
topgun's take on this can be right.

Re: Got Wet in the Rain of Fluidics!!!

First Service Update:

Kms compleated: 1570kms

So as informed earlier today morning reached Modi Hyundai Chunabhatti @09.50am sharp. Was greated by half a dozen of SA's and as told earlier it is a newly opened service center. People were free there even the mechanics were having tea. The SA whom I met earlier saw me and came out seeing me. He asked me weather I would be leaving or waiting at the customer lounge? I asked him how much time would it take. He sad around two hours. I thought; even if I go home by any public transport; It will take atleast half an hour. So till the time I will reach home; I will again have to head back here; so told him that I would be waiting at the customer lounge.

He repaired the job card and asked any complaints or issues. I had five things in mind right now
  • Automatic speed lock to be done from GScan
  • Front RH door not closing properly on lightly leaving it. Have to close it in force than normal.
  • When the car is on fourth gear and we leave the acceleater peddal; there is some garrr garrr noice which I could hear.
  • Bad FE
  • Chrome gear Knon from SX(O)

Regarding the GScan first he refused of such settings. Later in my repeated request he agreed to check if there were any settings.

Regarding the door; he told that since the windows are rolled up there is vaccume inside and the inside air does not have the space to go anywhere so thats why. He told to check it with windows rolled down; then it worked properly. Nways he told he will check it.

The garrr garr noice will also be seen

Regarding the FE he told that in city you will get not more than 10kmpl. Also he told that he will check the FE issue in the GScan if it shows any errors.

Gear Knob thing; leave the chrome gear knob they did not had any accessories right now sice it is newly opened one.

So; @10.00 am sharp my car was taken it. I went to the customer lounge and the Ac was switched on along with the TV. Flipped the channels nothing much interesting was there. Stopped the channel to SONY and was watching CID that too the repeated once.[lol]

Turned around and Saw my car commimg inside. Left the CID there and just kept admiring my car. The house keeping came with the coffee. There people checked the oil levels; the lights the locks and all the stuffs. Saw a guy commimg with a gadget with some wires; connected under the stearing some where donno. After half an hour the car went out for trial.

Came back; again they started doing some thing. Then Came my SA and told that the automatic lock option is not there in this model. I said ok. He told to get auto cops with siren and all. I questioned him if they have any? He said no; and asked me where do you stay. I said Sion Koliwada. He said there are many Accessories shops there get from there. I was shocked a SA guiding me towards an accessory shop. I asked him any thing about warranty void and all? He said no problems unless any wire cuts. I said okey. Also told him about HIDs. He told dont go for such things its waste of money. I said I have them lying with me. So he said if you have it then go for it and dont cut any wires.

Also inquired about the extended warranty. He gave me the details of the same. After half an hour sipped in my second coffee followed by a glass of water. He came in and said your car is done and only washing is remaining. It will take some time because there are some spots on the car and they have to apply Diesel and keep it for few minutes and all. I said okey. Fifteen minutes passed my car was lying there as it is. Went out found the SA and told him to be quick. He said sorry and appointed one washer for the car. After some minutes my car entered the yard again. All drenched with a sexy look. There people came with clothes and started wiping. All vaccuming was done. Then saw one guy bringing the MODI HYUNDAI sticker. He went towards my car and I stopped him. He said its nothing but a small sticker. I said no to him. He was like sir it is just a small one and I straight away told him my car is not an advertising board; so please leave it. Even if you put it; I will remove it before taking my car's keys. He just left taking the sticker.

Then came the Head of the SAs. He told me that he wanted to take some pics of my car as he wanted to send them to Hyundai. I asked any special reasons. He said that this bay I have reserved for premium cars like Verna; Sonata and Santa Fe for some reasons. I said just carry on. The car was positioned and the mechanic started to give some poses as if he was doing some thing and all. Then I asked him is mine the first Fluidic in this center? He said no but your's is looking most Stunning from all they have. I was like[:D]

Nways after a couple of shots; the car was made ready for the delivery. Checked all the things; the GScan did not showed any error for bad FE; took the bill of 0.00Rs and started to drove back home. Havent got chance to check the fourth gear garrr noice but check it tomorrow.

So in short a good experience; though the center seems deserted and is newly opened I find it better because the mechanics and SA's give good attention to the cars and the customers. Also the guys here were not looking that unexperienced as I had thought earlier.

Sitting at the customer lounge and admiring my white beauty.

Re: Got Wet in the Rain of Fluidics!!!

thats it i will go to modi then, at least i will get to watch cid instead of some boring movie at sharayu.
Their service centre looks amazingly clean and organized.
And sirji hyundai original lock with siren is out in most service centers why don't you give them a try?
By the way 10 in city for a diesel is to low isn't it? for our petrol ones company has claimed 13 in city while we get 6~10 in city. Let the car clock some mms now and then take a call if you find the fe rather pathetic, was the grrr grrr noise solved?

Hi Gears Paaji. Satsriakal, Yes I was coming back from Vashi. Must says you are pretty sharp to observe a vehicle travelling at 80kmph on the opposite side.

Nick , I too have the fuel cut off at about 36 litres. However when I ask the fuel pump guy to continue , he manages to fill up to 44 litres. Once he managed to push in 47 liters. That's when I realised that the full tank capacity is well above 45 liters. May be it could be 48 liters since I managed to pump in 47 liters.

Re: Got Wet in the Rain of Fluidics!!!

Re: Got Wet in the Rain of Fluidics!!!

Hey Gears. I too had got my 1st service at the Modi Hyundai workshop at Chunnabhatti. Same experience with me. Not many vehicles for service as its a new facility. They finished the 1st service checks while I finished my 2 cups of machine coffee. It's a clean new facility.

Don't know how they will stand upto for major issues and complaints like Nick has. We can rate it
once Nick gives a satisfactory nod after his service there.

Also keep wondering how they will stand upto on major suspension complaints or the Denting and Painting complaints in this new facility . All their 8 sales and service locations of Modi Hyundai group use some EQUIPMENTS from us. And they are also the largest Hyundai dealership in India sales figures wise. Hopefully it will rub off on better quality services in this new service facility till the High Volumes cause a drop in customer satisfaction levels like at Sharayu Hyundai .

Re: Got Wet in the Rain of Fluidics!!!

i feel lazy to make contacts in new service centers, but then again sharayu doesn't really take care of the car well.
Lets see have an oil change in 4000km but before that want to check my alignment, clutch system as well as do a brakes service and possibly a general check up.

Same is the case with me. The tank was filled with 37 litres and was auto cut at that level. The guy at pump said that the air is trapped in the tank and after filling the fuel it try to come out in the form of bubbles. These bubbles auto cut the fuel intake.
