@Ilango:
Guy firstly congo for the possession(because a Sierra is never owned,it is possessed)..
Secondly, today I am feeling to buy one for me too,its a fact that Sierra is still a head turner and is very rare too but still I love this car..

Any ways how is the power delivery of this car?In fact this small truck..

Thanks for the wishes.

Happy that still the sierra temps people . cheers for that.

When you posses , you don't need to worry about the power delivery.

My mechanic's word from his touring trip in the sierra " i was in slow lane when ever possible and i over took just couple of ambassadors ."

Another reason is worn condition of tyres. i tried just till 100 max .
and regarding the power delivery i have compared with our manza. i suffered a lot , A LOT.

Wicked idea .

Buy a sierra for damn cheapest rate , even a std one.

Plonk in a 2.2 docor engine and stamp in same engine number .

take out the shell , fix a safari shell - same chassis and only engine and chassis number are noted in rc.

last one is optional!!

Isnt that damn wild!

Your idea is really wicked..in fact its the baap of wicked..[evil]
But still I am doubtful if the Safari thing will come out of this Sierra thing[thinking],also what I believe is,get the 2.2 Dicor and put it in Sierra..The exclusivity thing buddy...

Sorry but what exactly is the Shell ?
Shell is the body over the chassis.
The practice is still the same , the chassis and body number is only noted and the there is no number for the shell or being noted down .

This is called a body shell. These are body shells of Tata Nano in this image.

Thanks for the clarification guys. I was aware that the Shell could be the actual body but what confused me was I beleive there was a typo in Ilango's post which I have underlined where he mentioned about taking the Safari shell and putting it on.

I thought there would be some kind thing else called as a shell due to the confusion :stupid:

I am assuming what he meant was take off the Safari body and put the Sierra's shell on to the Safari's Chassis. [thumbsup]

I have read somewhere someone has mounted Toyota engine in Sierra.
Are you on same way[thinking]

can be mounted , no at present i am not going to do any thing. stock is doing its duty fine.

What i meant is remove the sierra shell and fix safari shell in this chassis. all share the same chassis.

Coz at any day , sierra cost cheaper than a safari in 2nd hand market[evil]

Back after the small trip , there was some kind of bearing noise...

changed the idler bearing.

Idler as a set is not available , idler bearing number is 6203 , 4 nos.

each 125/-

still after fixing the grinding sound came , and no sound if there is no belt so confirming no sound from the engine. phew!

And just today found the exact reason, the fan leaf was running on just 2 bolt out of 4 that was supposed to be.
fixed and voila sound arrested.

and on the rainy , beautiful sunday morning , the car didnt crank.
just the previous day the batt was charged , due to same behavior. but still ..

now sits in amaron 80 amh 620 ah model . got this for 4400 with the old battery fetching some 800/- making 5200 as its selling price. 18 months guarantee and 6 months warranty

Yeah it does still take rough with the smooth.

And todays update.

After monitoring the increase in the price of the tyre often ,
got them 4 tyre changed.

mrf wanderer AT - price 6150 each. least most discount that i could get here.

Wondering the price of other brand.

appollo 6300/- old tyre buy back at 1000 and free wheel balancing too.
bridgestone - 7700/-
jk-6300
good year - 7250/-
micheline 7700/-

these are for 235/70 r16 , that is the stock of safari and scorpio etc. as mine has a upgraded rims.

sierra oe that is present sumo rims and tyre , cost 5100 per tyre at mrf.

And now after fixing the tyres , have fond almost all the bushes in rear , esp in right side to be worn out to the core. gonna replace them all. total of 16 bushes , the suspension bushes not included.
