new sumo victa steering pump fixed.
body primered .. after all the body work..
now minor body work is pending which will be done at the end..
now interior paints going on..
wheel paints next..
ac works next .
interior upholstery next ..

This is like a base.
Actually we mix colours with the primer to get the base.
Final color will be same as the original.

Since you have asked i'll post what i have spend so far..
except me all the people around me say i have wasted.
tinkering : 8000/- the buggar is asking more saying he didnt expect this much lot of work. actually all are small. crazy labours..
painter : my ex -staff. now @ honda. 12000/- (labour)
it includes , body shape and putty which must be actually done by tinker , but painter did this for about 45 days.
then painting inside , outside , underbody with rubber paint
Electriacal labour (5000/- including wires and relays )Amt yet to be given - work started
head light , tail lamps bought @ 2500
rubber beeding , lock set etc for 9000
steering pump sumo victa 6600/-
mod job to fit it 1200/-
Roof ac blower 2nd hand at chennai 5000/-
paint/ and tinkering material done by painter so far 11000/-
Yet to spend

approx another 7000/-
upholstry - approx 20000/-
other wiring lights etc 2000/-
central lock and amplifier - 8000 ( since i have a sub woofer from ID and helix audios 6.5" comps)

Had some leisure time and enjoyed reading many old post again .

the car is painted and being polished , ready to hit the roads by Wednesday!

Some how i loose interest to drive her up. May be more days it is in the garage?
may be too much delay at finishing time or continuous rains that made polishing impossible.
took it to wheel alignment for the first time after 10 month.
Aligments center full and way back to garage the headlights went kaput!
left it at garage and walked home.
let me check it tomorrow morning :)

Tata sierra. can never forget the wonderfull driving position & seat comfort.
Sad, my sierra is rusting. its standing in the same place for the past 3 years.
Its a 94 model. done 3,00,000 kilo meters.
Will recondition it some time later.
Ilango, why dont you go to TASS for the repairs. Might be costly when compared, but the vehicle will be good in the long run.

I have once asked TASS over phone and they said they cant service them.
I did not take them seriously!!
i have a lazy mechanic ( once upon a time good mech)
The update , drove about 25kms inside city.
lot of sounds and vibrations etc. Lets see what happens in coming days.
when the ac is switched on , you 'll feel standing next to a truck
